Today I made the chocolate chip cookies but I used half a bag of chocolate chip and half a bag of organic peanut butter chip. Pretty tasty!

I've done the same to rave reviews on the home front. Have you used the Trader Joe's mini peanut butter cups in cookies? I'm wondering how they would turn out.

BTW, if you have a stand mixer, you can follow the Toll House recipe using 1/2 c. zero trans fat Crisco instead of 1 c. margarine or butter. Chocolate chip cookies with 1/2 the fat :p ! They do tend to get stale quicker, but usually they don't last long enough to *get* stale. I've done it with a food processor, too, but you have to just pulse so that the dough doesn't get overheated in the bowl. I also tried this with a hand mixer, but the dough was too heavy for it and I almost burned out the motor.

Chocolate chip is the #1 requested cookie in the five one family. The recipe is forever burned into my brain!

Well, instead of Diablo I can report that the gun safe is no longer a fixture in the kitchen. This is a good thing because it would never do the dishes when I told it to.

'Nother even more cool thing is we found almost 2 miles of "singletrack" down at the creek. Mostly rough, bouncy and narrow fishing and game trails at this point but one end of it looks like there is real trail building going on. Might have to check into the group doing this.
