First let me explain 2 things. When riding from home I will often back my truck out of the garage. Then I can just use the opener to get back in when I get home. & it was cold this morning so my head was bundled up; headband, face mask, shades and helmet.

As I clipped in to leave, I realized I didn't have my pump. So I unclipped. Reached in the truck to open the door, ducked down to start running back in the house. Ducking down my vision was blocked and I misjudged and ran right into the bottom of the garage door. It knocked me backwards. My ears rang. The door rang. Blammed right on my forehead. I just stood there a second going, "Well golly."

If I hadn't had on my helmet, at minimum I would have had a huge gash OR the top of my head would have been in the driveway.

I went in, got my pump and rode. :p :D

You are real lucky
A friend of mine many years ago in London was going down a side-street, hands in the drops; when a fork-lift came out of a factory loading bay into the road and he ran right into its fork.
Concussion and a week in a special compression bandage and a monster scar!

oh man, i thought it was going to be a poem.

I am a clumsy person
sometimes I forget to look
But I never forget my helmet
even if it's the last thing I took

Garage doors in particular make me humble
because too often I stumble.
But my head is still pretty
because my helmet was on my head
otherwise I might be dead!

I would say that qualifies as a crash for that helmet - which should now be replaced...

I wondered who would be the first to remind me. ;) Thought about just putting it in my original message.

That was my first thought too! :p

Glad your head is still happy!

my first thought, too! "oh, no, helmet sustained an impact, and then she went riding in it!!!" ;)

Once a mother, always a mother.... can't help it!

My forehead now feels very..... Tired. Odd isn't it.
