I am a fairly new rider, about a year. My husband is very expericed and has trained me. I have tried several saddles but lately the pain in my coccyx bone (caused by riding) is with me all the time.
Any suggestions for saddles, shorts or anything else?
I am 5' 4", 125 lbs.
Thanks!

What saddles have you tried?
When I was doing spin classes at the Y, the saddles there caused me tailbone pain, every time. It would last for several days after. Ugh. I've never had this problem on my mountain bike, though.
One other thought, though -- is it possible that it's not the seat, but the geometry of your bike?
Do you know where your sitbones are, and is your weight resting on them while you ride?

sheljar,
Have you tried one of the saddles that is shaped more like a "V" in the back with a cut-out where your tailbone would be? Sorry that I can't recommend a specific brand, but maybe someone else can.
Are you riding a hybrid bike or any bike with a very upright riding position? I ride a road bike and my tailbone doesn't contact the saddle since I ride leaning forward at about a 45-degree angle, but if you ride more upright, you need to be sure to get a saddle that doesn't put any pressure on that area.
I used to ride a recumbent and got tailbone pain, so I do empathize! Other recumbent riders (male) that I mentioned this too didn't ever seem to have this problem, so perhaps we ladies just have longer "tails"! ;)
Good luck!
Emily

you don't say what kind/style of bike and riding... hybrid, road, mountain, or what kinds of saddles... wide, narrow, anatoical, padded, not padded.
I have a cracked tailbone and I only get pain when sitting upright on something like a folding metal chair. This is why some information about your current set up might be good.
Not to slam your hubby, but maybe you should have a fitting done by an objective source like a fitter at a bike shop. Sometimes our men give us the advice they think we need, not what's necesarily best... and in our ignorance, we heed it.

( still thinking about those 190 straigt skis my hubby bought me to learn on... "short skis suck, long skis truck...")

Heh. The 190 skis I got as hand me downs slowed down my skiing progress for years ... I couldn't turn the damn things!
(That was my own ego, though, not anyone pushing anything on me.)

Thanks for all the help!
(Sorry for the lack of initial info.)
I ride a road bike but with a riser flat bar. The saddles I have tried so far are: Performance Women's Contour, Terry fly race TI, Conventional Vetta and Easy Seat. I ride at a little bit of an angle but not at a racing angle. I don't think my tail bone even comes in contact with the seat but that is definitly where the pain is. I think my sit bone position is fine.
