All righty then. In keeping with my stated plan of doing at least one mountain a month, we plan on doing Mount Diablo next Sunday - 1/21.
Planned departure from Arbolado Park at 10:30. I'd like to go to A Sweet Affair after, there are other food choices in the same plaza, for the birthday cake Thom owes me. :p

I thought he always just said, "OK."
I've got it on the calendar.

After my performance up the one hill yesterday I would be lucky to make it even part way up Diablo but I would be tempted to give it a burl if DH was around. Unfortunately he has headed South with work for a week so I will have to partake of Diablo and the pain some other time.
Have fun.:)

Since this is nearly in my backyard, how can I say no? I'll be the lanterne rouge.
Weather is still looking good, except for those pesky winds.

No way can the CLIMBS BEGIN yet here in Flagstaff. At the rate our weather is going, it will be a while before I'm willing to come down any hill around here - what goes up must come down! It is just too icy, no matter how wishful I get about wanting to go up! I like hill climbing - not real fast - but its one of the best things about riding a bike!
Love Mount Diablo - it is just the right grade except right at the top! Have fun I'll be thinking about you while I play tennis

While Jo and Kim are arguing about who is slower, anyone been looking at the wind forecast for tamale? Not super interested in being banged around up there.

Really ?!
Oh geeze, that doesn't sound good. :(
Should we reschedule?
I feel bad 'cuz V shouldn't eat all that cake by herself :D but maybe we can reschedule your cake run, too?

Per the Mt Diablo weather station (http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/queryFx?MTD) it's been blowing like that all week. Strange, because there's only a gentle breeze down here at the bottom.

It's howling here.

The wind has been gusting to 62 up there since 6 PM on Saturday.
That's a little much.
I think we'll mountain bike at Black Diamond instead.

Good idea. We'll toodle around closer to home.
See you all again soon !

The winds are gusting to 30 here. Maybe they'll die down in the evening early enough for a ride.

Wow. I got lucky. I did my ride yesterday and the wind was ever so gentle. Today the GP is riding, and he gets the wind. Life's not fair...

I'll still do the ride as far as the junction, where it's hopefully not too windy.
