I don't get white handlebar tape. I mean I can see the aesthetics but don't you have to change 'em more often cuz they get grungier looking faster?

Lorri of the Velo Girls told me white bar tape makes her faster. :D
Is it because the pros use it?
She works at Summit bikes and can get it changed as often as she wants.
Mine's black

That depends on the color of your bike. When I worked in the shop, I had white plastic tape on my yellow bike. By riding home from work every day with grease on my hands, the tape came to match the bike. People used to ask me how I found tape to match so well. I just smiled and thanked them. Suppose I could have called it a "customized color".

Either you change it or ride with grungie looking tape. I opted to look a bit grungy. Of course, now I have black tape and I new wealth of knowledge on cleaning white tape.
