This one went much better than my last one even though it was in tougher conditions. The wind was blowing about 15mph, which doesn't sound like much, but it was a cross wind 90% of the time on the course and was throwing me around enough that I couldn't use my aero-bars. and I wasn't the only one; a couple of other tri girls were afraid to use theirs most of the time, unless they were in a tree break, as they were being pushed around also.
My warm-up had me really worried about how I would do. I had been on call for 24hrs before the TT, only got about 2hrs of sleep, and was on my feet for close to 20. Needless to say, my legs felt like lead weights. I made myself push it some on the hills and stand up over the crest to try and get my legs going.
The TT went pretty well. I improved my average speed from 15.68 to 17.12mph, with a time of 31:?? (can't remember). This TT hurt like heck, but I've heard that they are supossed to. I really didn't have much left to give at the end, so I paced myself pretty well. My HR stayed bw/n 175-185 the entire time, which is right about LT for me (180). I had better cornering, takign them at higher speeds, and pushed myself to use the big ring most of the time. Also stood up on the short power hills (which is all this course has) and was able to maintain a better speed throughout.
I am much happier with this TT than last ime. Now I just need to keep doing what I'm doing, which is long rides with some intervals and strenght intervals thrown in. This seems to be working so far, now let's just hope that I improve for next time.
