We are still in the top 5. We were at 4 this morning, slipped to 5 later in the day. If you haven't signed up yet think about it. Its fun and useful!

sign up at: www.bikejournal.com

select team estrogen as your primary team

then you can see how much riding you do relative to the other te gals, as well as to the membership at large. i also log details about my bike's service record, etc.

Hmmm, good idea, but how do you do that on BJ?

I use the ride description column. If I change a tire, or change a casette I note it in the ride description (after the 'real' ride descritpion), so then I can see how much mileage I have on a chain, tire, etc.

p.s. I do understand that many folks have set the club they ride with as their primary, which of course we all understand. I'm just suggesting that if you are just using BJ as your club, or not doing it at all, to consider supporting our virtual club. Its all in fun of course, so no one should worry if they choose another primary club. In fact, I stopped visiting the bicycling mag site cuz they got mad that I wouldn't 'give them' my mileage. This message was more to recruit folks that aren't logging mileage at all, and may find this a useful tool.

The club I ride with doesn't care. TE cares, so it's fun to log my miles to TE!
:)
and of course, be counted in the 2500 mile challenge as well.

ok, ok, I moved back to TE. Now I need to ride enough to make a difference in the standings. We're in 5th now....

Edited at 3:00 to say we're number 4 now, let's keep it going ladies.

Judging from what has been posted to the forum (where some of the moderators have been flamethrowing ... hmmm?!?!?) soon or now you'll be able to be in as many clubs as you want and all your miles will count for all of them. That'll be kewl.

OK, I just joined and added my 53.90 miles.

I've posted my miles w/TE now. Very few in my local club use BikeJ - wonder why?

OK so you guys got me to start logging my miles again. Since the weather has been so abnormally warm it looks like I will get a few miles in this winter!

Anyway, one question... how on earth does someone already have 2300 miles??? It's only the 7th of January!!!!

I that's a typo. There a several theards on that kind of things on BikeJournal.com forums, which are normaly quite civilized.

I'd love to log my trainer rides, but I'm not sure how to track mileage.

How do you track indoor mileage when you don't have your distance sensor hooked up to your back wheel?

Do you just estimate based on your average outdoor time/mileage?

Also, I'd love to give TE my skiing kilometers, but I'm not sure if that's allowed;)

i have my sensor on my back wheel. That's the only way I can tell how far i've gone. What i have discovered is that i am horribly consistent. No matter how hard i work, it seems to stay around 12mph on the trainer.

I noticed that when I post my rides at BJ that only my actual outdoor rides tally. My stationary bike rides and mileage do not. Can your indoor mileage get added some how? Or only outdoor mileage?

Thanks . . . Sue

Susan, you have to find the place on BJ where it says to count all miles.
you just have to uncheck something, but i don't remember exactly how to do it.

In your profile, there is a flag that indicates, "count outside rides only". Uncheck that flag and you should be good to go...(speaking from experience):p

I had to reread this three times before I figured out what you were really trying to say. :p

It's just way too early in the morning and besides I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy.

OK, I signed up and posted last weekend's rides. :D
I'll look at last week's schedule and post-enter those rides later. Should be good for another 50-75 miles.

How do I see my ride tallies for all the clubs? How do we know that they show up for all three, and not just the primary club?

urk. What am I doing wrong??

I go to www.bikejournal.com, my username and password are there already and I click "log in". Then I go to "view forum" - click on the 2005 mile race thread - and click on the link in mrprudhoms first post to see the updated results.

THEN I'm told I'm timed out and am asked to log in again??

Oh, and can I join another race, like the "shoot Cupid" 400 mile one too?

feeling stupid here, finally found my way around TE and now I'm all lost agin...

I think the time out is a bug that Sean aka Slantz is working on.
You can join as many races as you want to...

Yea, join, join :) :)

Most of us have set our "goal" thing to 400, too, which has caused confusion in the masses (since we're pretty obviously on a pace to do more than 400 in the year).

Whether you join the inane banter (see the "Okay, you two" thread) is entirely optional.

lph
01-10-2007, 10:46 AM
cool :) I have my hands full keeping up with just a little of the inane banter on TE, I think ;)

um - HOW do I join the Cupid thingy race?

-signed, dumb in Oslo

Geonz
01-10-2007, 11:27 AM
Welp, if you wandered into the vortex of the inanity thread, you'd find that signing up isn't that easy to find ;)

This will probably work: look along the top for the menu and find "rides" (after home journal riders .... etc...) and click on "manage rides." That pulls up some rides - for me, it pulled up the ones in my state. There's a box up in the right hand corner that says "what state" and I changed it to "all."

Then the first ride was the "Valentine's Day/ Shoot Cupid" ride and I clicked and joined. There's supposed to be (virtual) fudge for everybody who finishes :)

Ok..am wondering who i'm trying to keep up with..Geonz I know who you are..but who's easterbird?

Sure hope i can keep up with you TE clubbers..aim is to do minimum 200km/wk..

This is so much fun..makes me want to do even longer rides..

Who is the guy that's #1 in the whole stats? HE's done over 1000km..does he work as well? Where does he find time to do 78miles?

The negative/positive thing relates to how many miles they have ridden more or less than you. At the moment as I list the stats for the club you have +118.9 beside your miles as you've ridden that much more than me!
