Amici Veloci was started two years ago by a group of SF Bay Area TE'ers to ride an MS ride - Top Hat- in honor of one of our own. We unofficially decided that we would do fundraising rides as a group every other year. That way we don't ask our friends every year for money. :D

This year we have pretty much come to consensus that our ride will be the MS Waves to Wine.

It is Sept. 29 & 30. We'd love to have other folks from the TE community join us if you're able. The more the merrier.

Down to business. I nominate Capitan Jobob to be, um, er, captain again. She did such a marvelous job last time.

It looks like the MS society web site is a little more sophisticated this time. Even has the info ahead of time.

Sure, I'd be glad to be Supreme Commander (er, Captain) again, if you'll have me.

This time I'll be ready for the nearly daily requests to keep upping the pledge goal  :D

Ed. to add: Registration for last year's Waves to Wine officially started in early February, so we have time to get this all sorted out.

I'm bumping this in case anyone wants to join the fun. Hard to believe the end of September isn't that far off.

Captain Jo, how do we find the team page?

You'd be healed up by then. Want to come?

Any news yet? A prognosis, a prognostication, treatment of more red and pink?

Can I be a virtual team member?? I'm riding my local MS ride in early September, and I'm not sure a trip to CA is in the cards for me:(

My husband might be having foot surgery sometime around then, but I'll ask his permission for this ride! When is the cutoff date for registration?

Went to the doc today, and he told me not to do TBP.:(
I'm bummed, but kind of expected it. Think I'll just head right to Ontario and do some fishing.
That red and pink treatment gave me diarrhea of the mouth....LOL!

What, does he have foot and mouth disease?:p (for others, her hubby just had dental work yesterday). Amazing what you find out about each other when determining if pink and red go together (photo taken Monday at Mumm bubbly cellars).

It would be wonderful if you could join us and meet our silly group. Deadline info says: The deadline for online registrations is September 21st 2007, the week before the event. You can also register up until the day of the ride, however, registration fees will increase by $5 per month as we get closer to the event. We usually suggest that individuals commit around 90 days out from the event (By July 1) to ensure enough time to prepare and train and to allow enough time to reach their fundraising goal.

The team website link will get you to all kinds of info on the ride.

And, CA_in_NC, of course!

Oh gosh! Wish I could join you gals! [Must check calendar. Must check bank account. Must bike to work more often.] Oh well. If calendar doesn't allow, then at least I can donate.

Woo-hoo, party on - the more the merrier !

Since we're a bunch of pampered princesses  I've reserved rooms at a nearby motel for the overnight. The room rate is $99 / night, 2 double beds per room. I think I can reserve more rooms at this point if we need them.

But, if you would rather camp out at Sonoma Mountain Village in Rhonert Park (which is included in the registration fee), that's fine too.

Here's the main info page: www.wavestowine.org

I just wanted to say THANK YOU JO for doing all this running around for us. This pampered princess likes the idea of a nice soft bed.:D

Just realized I got myself a bit confused. The ride is in September and my exam is in November....I forgot that October comes in the middle...oops. I guess I can't make it this year either.

I wish I could come out there for this ride! We had so much fun on my trip last year! And - the ride is on my birthday! Ah well! I'll have to tuck away some money, so maybe next year!

Okay ladies, I signed up. Got some information on the ride from Trekhawk and MP. Many thanks to both of you. I really want to meet all of you ladies. My only reservation is that I haven't done too many miles this year (back problems). I will drive up from L.A. the day before. Jo, I am also a "pampered princess' and will need a real bed and indoor plumbing. Should have our AV jerseys by then too. Can't wait!!

Awesome! Welcome to the fray :)

Nina, I've reserved a block of rooms for the overnight in Rhonert Park, so you're set for that. We can work out all the details as the day approaches.

Updating my post #16:
Another motel was added recently to the list of motels for the overnight. It's closer to Sonoma Mountain Village and costs a bit less than the motel I had previously booked, so now it's $77 per room, 2 beds/room.

Thanks Jobob. Now I need to find out which hotels have been booked for the event in San Francisco. The web page doesn't have the link to Rider Information. I won't worry about it for now.

Hi Nina -

I know what you mean, the team webpages aren't necessarily linked to the main info pages - I think they're working on it ...

If you go to the "main" web page for the ride, at http://www.wavestowine.org/

Then go to Riders --> Accommodations

you'll find a list of hotels for Friday night near San Francisco.
