Rode to work. Hard riding after having been on the bike only once in the last month  . Only 12kms but it took me 41 minutes :(. Amazing how much fitness you can lose in 1 month! But, my saddlebag did weigh a ton.... bringing in stuff for work. But I made it, and this time last year I was buying a parking permit...... wont be getting one this year, I'm a biking chick now :D.

Completely off topic, Theav, but you have the CUTEST dog. What breed is he/she?

aw shucks.. i love it when people love my dog :D :D

Holly is a red heeler x husky. Red heelers are cattle dogs here, made to run around in 40 degree heat for hours and nip at the heels of cattle to move them along. So she's a real mix, but she's got the sweetest nature and i've had here since she was 6 weeks old. She LOVES water... any water.... LOVES people... LOVES food.... and would like to LOVE our cats, but they are very wary :p

She is completely mad, just like her owners :D, and incredibly loyal. This photo was taken on the RSPCA million paws walk... she had an absolute ball :D :D

he he. theav, I've got a blue heeler/kelpie. I LOVE heeler crosses

Anyhue. I Took a detour on my way home and went over the newly opened "GREEN BRIDGE" linking where I work to the University I'm emplyed by (across the river)

It's GREAT!

I can get up to 33kph COASTING down the hill then that vears onto the bridge where there's no speed limit for BIKES cause we have our own segregated path.

The pedestrian path is seperated from the bike path by the busway! It's FREAKING FANTASTIC!!!

Rode in and posted that right away on bikejournal where it only gets me to 700 something ... heavens, what a drop in rank from my peak of 137. Of course, if I go out at lunch and ride four miles to eat my rank will jump up a hundred or so... and there's tomorrow...

I've been away fora few days that felt like more. Rode in easy-like, and noticed the psychological transition from east coast elevator-like "I'm in my car going where I'm going and not lookin' at anything or anbody" mindset to "if you smile, people will notice and say good morning!" (and then... "Nice bike!!" - and I don't even have the Christmas tree on it now!)

Isn't that mileage rank jump something, Sue?! I went from 350-ish yesterday to 150-ish with just this morning's commute. Got to love the beginning of the new year!

Oh, nice ride in today. Warm at 32 degrees, so I didn't need my face mask. Snow/sleet/rain coming tomorrow, ought to make for a nice, sloppy commute.

I broke down and purchased a new winter jersey while my old one is being "repaired." Since I had a new jersey I decided I needed to test it and see if it would keep me warm on a brisk day. So upon finishing all my errands in Louisville I switched clothes and grabbed my recumbent. The new jersey did keep me warm and I had an enjoyable 15.5 mile ride in the bright sunshine. It is my last day of vacation so it was a great way to close it - tomorrow it is back to the grind but I only have 93 more days to teach until summer vacation!

Rode 39mi today, nothing too hard, but I enjoyed it. The temp was upper 40s, moderate breeze. Enjoyed it before I go back to work tomorrow.

Today was my last off day before going back to work, and it was a double workout day due to yesterday's club ride being postponed until this morning b/c of heavy rain. We'd planned to ride around 50 miles, but some low parts of today's route flooded where the river and creeks have overflowed and forced road closings. So instead we rode a shorter out & back route along a ridge road. Gorgeous sunny day, high temps in low 50's with 10-15 mph winds. And tonight our spin group tried the Carmichael Train Right sprint workout - some painful intervals, but the high cadence recovery spinning seems to have helped my legs feel pretty good now. And I did get a 50-mile total for today after all. Starting tomorrow, no more weekday outdoor rides for a while :(

I had two short rides today. First one was w/my 10 yo dtr. I kept it short on purpose so as not to discourage her from riding w/Mom. We rode a dirt trail about 3 miles. She had a rooster tail from the mud and thought that it was pretty cool that we both got dirty. I'm hoping to groom her into a good riding partner some day :)

Then I did a 10 miler on my own near my home. I wanted to get SOME mileage in to start my 2,500 mile challenge in the right direction.
