YAY!
it's the middle of freaking summer here and Yesterday was OVERCAST and unseasonably cold... So BF and I took off on the train with our bikes to the Boondall wetlands track in Brisbane. That was about 16km to Nudgee beach where we stopped for lunch,
We came back past the nudgee criterium circuit and had a few laps round it. (I got up to 40km per hour on my hybrid! lol)
then took the kedron brook bike path to the enoggerra train station then rode home through south bank.
a 40km leisure ride, started at 10am at our place, finished at 3pm at our place.
Many suburbs covered over MULTIPLE train lines on both sides of the river. (brisbane only has three major lines on each side of the river)
Very fun
When I got home my legs were BLACK with road grime. lol

I grabbed a little over 17 miles today - outside! It was a sunny, cool day (54 F) with a steady wind blowing in from the south (wind chill was around 49F). I had planned a long ride but as I was walking out the door BF called to say he was heading to a job site about 4 miles from my house. So I took a short ride and headed over to his work site on my bike. He and his partner worked while I stood and watched and chatted (it is so nice to be on vacation!). Tomorrow's forecast is even better so hopefully I can get in about 25 miles.

9.4 miles and 40 degrees!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Rode my Bianchi which was just adjusted AGAIN, and it did feel nicer.
I rode up some serious neighborhood hills today, including the switchbacks on Kenyon, and the really stiff hill on webster and just because, I also went up the little (but steep) hill on Rose. When I first started cycling in my neighborhood, I felt whiny because there was nowhere I could go without dealing with hills, but I have accepted those hills and now am using them for training!

DH and I rode 21 miles today. In the 40's, party sunny, very pleasant. We're on "semi-vacation" this week...a light work load. Sweet.

My ride was totally normal for me nothing different. But my husband saw a bobcat on he's ride. He was so excited he called me yelling about it. It was very cute. He said the big guy had he's head in a whole and got really scared when my dh pulled up to him. Even my dh wasn't sure what it was at first!

It was such a nice day that I took the "scenic route" home from work today. 9.4 miles. 40 degrees. Cloudy. If I had had time I would have gone much farther. I thought it was perfect riding weather.

Today was so beautiful, I left work early. When I was about ten minutes from home, I called Mr. Sheesh and asked him to start getting our water bottles and riding gear ready. He seemed surprised that I wanted to ride, because it was about 45 degrees, but with the sun shining, it felt much warmer to me. We didn't have a lot of time, so we only rode 20 miles (typically I'd do 30 and he'd do 40), but we were both glad that we got out on the lake path.
Tomorrow is supposed to have a high of 45 so we're going to try and get out in the morning. O hope you all are able to enjoy this unseasonably warm weather! Happy riding!

I left work early yesterday to ride, too. The forecast was for sunny & mid-50's, and it looked like that was going to be the case - until we all arrived at the starting place for the ride. Suddenly the sun disappeared and the temperature dropped. In reality it was about 47 & cloudy, but with little or no wind. Three of us rode 30 miles. It was great to be out! If the rain holds off long enough, we will squeeze in one more 2006 ride tomorrow.
Happy New Year everyone!
