I can't believe century season is right around the corner.
Anyway, Party Pardee (http://www.bikehikers.com/PPindex.htm)registration opens on Jan 2 and fills up fast. Just thought I'd post since a number of us like this ride.

So does that mean you are riding this one. Since I missed this one last year I thought it might be fun.:)
Since I do 90 percent of my riding alone Im really only interested in signing up for rides where I know I will have some company for part of the ride and the yummy eats after.:)

This is definitely a must do ride. Didn't you sign up last year but the rain kept you home?
It's a really purty ride. You MUST register early.
And we will be doing it.

Yep last year I stayed away because the weather looked sad and then it never rained for the ride.
Yep I will sign up and unless its raining fit for the Ark I will be coming.
Ooh so many rides to sign up for.:)

And then there's Bike Around the Buttes on the 14th. That's the same day as the Tierra Bella, but Lee & I volunteered on TB for hte last 2 years so maybe we'll give it a pass this year.
Wish April had a few more weekends, yikes.

LOL - yep I want to do that one too and go the whole way this time.
Poor DH already has a glazed look on his face while Im telling him all the weekends he will need to be available (that means no working) so he can kid sit and I can ride. Lucky he is a Gem or I wouldnt get out to half of these great rides.

Don't forget about a certain Ironman on 4/15.... I think we may even get Lise out for this one! Maybe her and the beau could make it a romantic weekend with a trip to sedona thrown in.... :)

Snap, there's a Holiday Inn Express in nearby Jackson if you plan to do the Princess routine. We'll probably be staying there the night before, it's a bit of a haul for us otherwise.

Brat!
If I thought the drive would be less than 3 hours, I would've considered it. But by the time I get out of work, packed up and on the road, you know I'll hit all the traffic.
Maybe I won't tell you my room number.....maybe there's another dog parade in Healdsburg.....I did get some awesome tamales at the farmer's market.....

I am still signed up for the SLO Wildflower at the end of April, but I might have to bail on that.

Telling... a "cycling" vacation in Provence with my mother and niece. I use the term "cycling" loosely, since it's something like 20 easy miles a day, then lots of food and wine (which I won't complain about). Then a few days in Paris afterwards.

I'm truly full of angst to be traveling with my mother. And, I have nothing to wear!!! The "What Not To Wear" reject goes to Paris, details at 10. :o

Nooo, you can't bail on the Wildflower. We've hardly seen you. It's road trip time.
You free for an all day (well 55 mile ride) this Saturday? Get you tuned up for all the gourmet treats in your future?

I'm trying to talk Sue F into changing from her plans of riding from Davis to Berkeley and return via Amtrak (which just sounds horrible - bridges and traffic?) to riding Atlas and Veeder. I had suggested Atlas to MP for her Tnt training rides but that she needed to do something other than Mt George such as your suggestion of Veeder and Atlas. So she put it to the test and gave it a thumbs up. I amended by taking out her extra climb up Dry Creek to the top of Trinity. This was you can ride Atlas early in the ride and find yummy food in Yountville after. Of course you can always do the extra climb or make it a smidgen easier by riding Dry Creek instead of Veeder.
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Yountville-Atlas-Veeder
I'm not doing the Davis to Berkeley ride no how. Want to come ride with me? Bubba is in his usual noncommittal mode but will probably go anyway, especially if he has the possibility of whiner duets.

That does look like a fun ride. What time do you want to start?
SadieKate
03-28-2007, 08:16 AM
Weather Wunderground says partly cloudy and 74. Probably don't have to start too horribly early. You say. I'll create a thread in case anyone else wants to go.

Helps me get over the pain of snap ditching us ....Sad news to report. Mr Robb was riding no-handed on the levy path Friday and lost control of his bike. He is now home nursing a separated shoulder and stitches in eyebrow, plus numerous contusions, abrasions, and road rash, and the demise of glasses, shorts and helmet. Need I say more?
His Pardee reg may not have been claimed yet so any takers?
Snap, you want me to post on the Davis Bike Club email that your reg is also available? Can it be transferred to the 65 mile route?

Mostly lurker, but I'm going too, with my riding buddy and her friend. Of course, I've been sick this weekend instead of on my bike, so I have no idea what shape I'll be in on Saturday. And I'm a flatlander to boot! Oh well. Feed me, and play music, and I'll give it my best shot. It's my first time doing this.

Hi, Dee! It's a beautiful ride. There always seem to be lots of wildflowers. The course has lots of nice rolling terrain that is just fun.
Keep an eye out for our Amici Veloci jerseys and say hi.

04-02-2007, 07:48 PM
Sure thing! Everytime I'm at Steady Eddies, or pass people on the rode, I wonder if one of them is you! :) What color are those jerseys? My friend and I are both around 5' and Asian. We usually ride on Sundays, as she's a runner and her long training runs (she does marathons) are on Saturdays.
I'm glad it's mostly rolling hills! I like those! I'm not one of those that can ride forever, my body gets really worn and tired feeling at around 50 miles, much less 65! I've been riding a couple of years now.

Jeremy (my husband) is doing this one while I stay home and clean the house for Easter. It seems unfair somehow. If you see a long-haired guy on a Giant, tell him he should stop and pick up flowers for his wife on the way home.
Or actually, tell him to pick up a pie. His wife would like a pie.

Where's your ride report?
I dunno about ours. Fun time, beautiful weather, not much for wildflowers as it was too dry a winter. No endos at the speed bump. Better food than last year will all vegetarian options. I don't think there was a chicken or cow in site.
Jobob wrote up something. What happened to it? Is it another thread? Maybe in her bikejournal log. She's obviously turning into the club historian.

My ride/holiday report will be coming soon - I came down with the flu at some point in the 24 hour journey home and am still recovering. Les vacances, c'est très amiable. (Uh, my French didn't improve any, but the vacation was very fun.)
I'll go look at bj for the ride report.
