My mom got a new Toyota Scion. Goodness knows she deserves a new car!

I got a photo from my very talented photog step daughter, fun t-shirts, work out gloves (for my new strength training program), See's candies, body butter, CDs and best of all... muscle supporting running tights that are supposed to reduce fatigue on my long training runs for IM, (from my DH).
I cleaned up. Guess I was a good gril this year. Or maybe I was so bad, I was good.
DH got me an Everlast 75 pound heavy bag! Yay!! I can kick and punch in my own basement as soon as we figure out where/how to hang it! and boots, a great necklace, a cute t-shirt, and a sleeman's glass he got for free for buying two sleeves of Honey Brown at the local pub. :D His sister gave us wine and an electric wine opener. Cool stuff!
And tomorrow we'll start on the gift for each other. Tomorrow we start to prep the kitchen and dining room and go buy the paint! We've got a week off, we might as well get something great done, right??
And it was nice that the family that showed up were gracious, enjoyed the meal, didn't do anything crazy confrontational, and they left by 8:00 pm! YAY!!
We have turkey leftovers, we have turkey leftovers. happy dance!
Hugs and butterflies to you all,
~T~

I posted mine goodies down in the triathlon site...my Dh rocks..I got a new Titus Racer X just 8 weeks ago, so I was expecting some little stocking stuffers. Instead he really hooked me up with some great gear.
Two books on training and nutrition
New cycling jerseys
new Timex ironman watch
CW-X running tights
And the promise to go triathlon wetsuit shopping.
The best part is the show of support. He is starting to make noises about having to get in the pool and train with me, we have an I jump, you jump approach to racing. If I do a triathlon, he is going to train and do it with me.
Thanks Santa!!!

I got a waterproof digital camera--nice compact size for taking along in a handlebar bag--a silver-and-gold charm for my charm bracelet, and a leather motorcycle jacket--a nice, eclectic assortment. It was a lovely Christmas day, with a two-hour bike ride, dinner with one group of friends, and games after dinner with another group.

We are pretty low-key around my house...
My stepmom knitted a hat for me...
My sister gave me a pair of socks...
My mom gave me oranges, some goat cheese, and some REALLY good chocolate...
My father-in-law gave me two bluebird houses (that he made)...
DH gave me six truffles and some dark chocolate "bark" with almonds, a can of shaving cream, and a tube of toothpaste (he found those in the bathroom - needed some 'filler' to complete my stocking)!

Around here it's an end-of-the-year celebration, but nevertheless:
A new helmet (nice white/silver)
New cycling knickers
Topeak Alien multi-tool
A custom painted red Raleigh mixte!
Another red mixte, Centurion Sport DLX, somehow to be gotten up to Kent from Sacramento!
Red is the colour of the season. But not for the knickers  .

My big gift was a total shocker! It was a Nikon D50 digital SLR camera. I've been coveting it for years, but never thought I would actually get one!!
And then I got a bunch of bike goodies.
PI sugar Knickers
PI socks- my fave
PI gloves (or glubbs as I call them) IM training ruined my other ones. They are NASTY!
2 new sports bras's
The never reach hydration system for this years IM. It looks silly, but I think it will work alot better than the aerobar mounted front bottles.
and a purty new giro purple helmet.
I also got a bunch of stuff from L'Occitane en provence. Shea butter.... My fave!
Oh and jammies too. I always ask for jammies and it confounds my husband? I just like basic jersey knit jammie pants and shorts... Easy for some, a nightmare for my husband! lol
Oh and one of my best gifts? A 25.00 gc for TE!!! WHOO HOO!!!!
Like I said, I was a VERY lucky girl this year!!
Sounds like everyone got some great gifts this year! :)

The reviews have been good... but take note: It does spill out and will get on your brakes. So, something sticky is not really good to carry in there.
Have fun with your new camera!

I wasn't good enough to get my new bike. :( I figured my income tax for next year and realized we are not getting a return for the first time in 4 years. We had planned to be buying me a bike this weekend, but realized we have to save for taxes. Boohoo. Unfortunately, we also owe the apartment we just moved out of for carpet. They are taking us to the cleaners, so two big bills erased my bike dreams.
Santa was still pretty nice to me:
*Gift card to bike shop from the in-laws. I have to split it with DH, what were they thinking? :p
*Gift card for work clothes from same in-laws
*Money from other set of in-laws (sometimes it pays to have a DH w/ divorced parents)
*Some pajamas and a shirt
*A jersey from my folks
*Another bike shop gift card from my big brother
*Cozy socks (love warm feet)
*Money from two grandmas tired of shopping. ;)
*DVDs from MIL
*A turning cake stand and cake decorating tips!
DH and I bought ourselves a house so he didn't do much this year but it was perfect:
*A wool beret
*2 CDs

got 2 large red candleabra for the new mantle I gave me... LOL!
TWO new bird houses WOOT and a new feeder on a tall post! I'm a nature/bird freak so these are perfect gifts for me... oh yeah, and a 20lb bag of bird seed with the feeder :D ,
a Nesting Wreath from my ex-FIL :) ,
a new coffee maker (Starbucks stock is gonna drop... sell people, sell quick! :D )
and I'm looking for another dog to give to my Pug, Magnus... He needs a furry companion to run in the yard with. I will take him to meet a 10 month old Labradoodle the rescue has this weekend... lord help me. A 10 month old. I must be nuts. :p Don't know if she's coming home or not yet... but I DO know the right rescue will find us...

I spent the morning with my DD, DSIL and grands. That is always the best!:D The kids just had a ball! The house looked like a toy store exploded! But after a couple of hours, I got to go home!;) And spent the afternoon/evening with my sweet S/O
Here's my list:
*Beautiful cowl (?) neck Ann Taylor sweater from my daughter
*re-gifted (but told beforehand - and it was a bit of a gag) sunflower electric candle warmer! from dd & family
*calendar/picture cube cup for my desk from dd & family
*several little skin care items from Restoration Hardware from dd
*Absolutely beautiful yard art blue heron from DSO (which is going to live on my hearth)
*Pink and strong Chris King headset (for my new Gunnar bike that will be ordered in a couple of weeks) from DSO
*Pink and Strong CK water bottles from DSO
*My favorite fragrance - Kenzo D'Ete - from DSO
*Several other little bike necessities to help set up my new bike.
*Bed buddy - a moist heat/cold thingy that you can nuke and put on aching necks or other sore muscles (I've been having stress-sore neck issues lately) also DSO
*10 POUNDS of pink M&M's! (yep) from - of course - my sweet DSO
*and last, but not least another 5 POUNDS of chocolate covered dried fruit and Lindt truffles!
So girls, I'll be needing to ride LOTS in order to be able to enjoy those luscious candies!

I got the gift of not being as stressed out as I normally am at christmas. I really worked on on having light heart this year and it worked. A few buttered rums helped as well. I am afraid I didn't get any bike stuff. ( I did order a couple pairs of wool socks for myself at te though does that count).
I got from my dh, a cashmere sweater, a really cool pair of high heels I wanted ( they are from a company called sofft they are like Born shoes so they ARE very comfy) He also gave me my favorite cookies from autralia called Tim tams,a bottle of good red wine and the 5th season of Northern exposure (love that show)
from friends and relatives I got a big coffee mug, calender, tea, and answer book on knitting, a cute retro sweater from my sister bother's presant is still pending! Most of all I think peace of mind was my greatest gift. I stress alot about work right now normally cuase we close our books and do our profit split so I worry how much we are going to get. We don't work that much this time of year so that money has to carry us into our next work season. And with buying presants I am always thinking "Am I spending to much" Should I be saving this in case we don't make very much. Kinda sucks but I just watched myself and didn't go over board. Last year I cried on christmas day cause I was worried. It was all for not. I did talk to our book keeper early Nov and asked him if he had a clue and he said about what we made last year. So that helped me alot to enjoy myself.

Hey jeannie, I'm local to ya and more than happy to help out with the chocolate eatin'! Do you do any RABA rides? If so maybe we can meet and swap some truffles for a box of GU packets I got from Santa, heh heh! (Heaven help me, I'm a human sweet tooth married to a dentist with no body fat  )

I got a ton of stuff, from both hubby's family (Christmas) and my parents (Hannukah). Heh!
Highlights are:
7 Spinervals DVDs, including the triathlete pack! WOOOO I have a library to pick and choose from now!
Djembe instructional DVD
itunes/audible.com gift cards
Fresh oranges and grapefruits from Bell's Farm to Market in Texas (best. grapefruits. evar. & we get them every year but I am still psyched)
a few books and DVDs from my list, perfect!
I am very pleased. My husband's family works almost exclusively from internet wish lists for each other, so I usually end up with a lot of things I was hoping for...

Jeannie WAIT! I offered to help first! Do you suppose, with only 10 lb. of M&M's, that there's enough for the THREE of us?? :D Kay, I'd be happy to take the heat & claim I ate ALL the chocolate so your dentist DH won't find out

Hey girls, there's enough for ALL three (4 if you count him)! Come on over! I was just thinking this morning that I need to get them out of sight!
KayTee, where are you? I've done a couple of rides with the RABA group. Hoping to do more next spring. There's a women's ride on Wed. evenings that I'd like to figure out how to do (time-wise). I work retail, so it's difficult - weekends are almost impossible!:(
KayTee

I'm on the north side of the river, but east of Richmond. In season I often ride RABA's Tu Hanover and Th Black Creek rides, and some of their weekend rides if we're not cycling from home or in the James City area. Next month DH and I will temporarily resurrect the weekly Sunday p.m. ride for RABA from Dorey Park in eastern Henrico, at least until early April (see www.raba.org for directions). Where are you? PM me if you're interested in the Sunday ride - it'd be fun to hook up!

IFjane, thanks for the offer to take the heat! It's not fair being made to feel guilty about indulging in such a major food group!

I think maybe we've hijacked the thread! Sorry everyone.
KayTee, I'm in the West End of Richmond - about a mile from Short Pump Town Center:eek:
Is your Sunday ride a fast one?? Dso and I don't really ride for speed the way some of the RABA riders do... but might be up for doing a *social* ride. We ride the rolling hills around Hanover a lot of Sunday mornings. I work at 1 p.m., so they have to be kind of early - and not too long.
For Christmas I received my family for christmas day company, new snowshoes from my 6th son, knive set from DH, a hugh microwave from 4th son and a music box from my daughter.

I got a whole bunch of stuff as well:
1. Very nice Sony camera that take wonderful photos short movies as well. A perfect gift for the upcoming baby.

3. Nice cloths and shoes.
4. Some bling-bling stuff too.

I didn't get anything bike related, but still got some good stuff:
From DH I got a sailing book, waterproof boat duffle bag, lots of 70% dark chocolate (organic) :D, and an islands scene calendar.
From my ILs I got an LL Bean gift card.
My mom gave me clothes, toiletries, socks, lots of little things.
My step-dad gave me a pretty stained-glass hanging hummingbird, some UNC stuff (Tarheels fans here), and a huge bottle of tequila (for DH and me - we love margaritas!) :p
My brother gave me a t-shirt, chocolates, and a calendar.
My two brothers-in-law (& wives) gave us a big jug of maple syrup and a huge assortment of nuts (we love nuts!)
A friend gave me a salami and cheese gift pack from a great place in Wisconsin.
Another friend gave me a cashmere Ann Taylor scarf and hat set (lovely).
But the best thing about Christmas was spending time with my family and DH at the beach. We had a great time and such fun sitting around opening gifts on Christmas morning. Lots of laughs and memories shared.
Glad so many others had good holidays too!
Emily
