Merry Christmas Everyone! I posted this originally in the wrong place, but I just wanted to share my excitement with all of you. :D
My Dso and I went to a Gunnar/Waterford bike dealer in Chesapeake on Friday where I had my first official bike fit! I was measured every which way but upside down & then observed riding my bike and a bike that was the *right* size for me. It turns out that my bike is about 2 sizes too large. We kind of knew that, but my Gunnar Roadie was such a deal and is SO beautiful. I only rode her for a season, but it looks like I'll be getting a new Gunnar! It'll either be another Roadie or Sport (which has a teeny bit better geometry for me). I now have to come up with a color. Since Gunnar is made by Waterford, I can choose literally anything. The bike shop owner said "just look at a car, and if you see a color you like, they'll paint it that color"!!
So, girls, I'll let you know probably in the next week or so what is decided... :D

Congratulations Jeannie!! Color - wow - I'm glad I didn't have to make that decision with mine :D Have you decided? Narrowed down the choices?
After you get it, don't forget to name it ;)

Susie, I will be selling the frame and fork - maybe the CK headset - only. It's a 52 cm. My new bike will be a 50.
Jane, I'm anxious to see the paint book from Gunnar. I have narrowed it some, I think, but who knows - I may change my mind. I have to keep in mind my pink velocity wheels - they're staying - and my new Chris King pink headset - so it won't be pink... maybe green?

Hmm, pink and green is nice. Pink and purple, pink and blue, pink and silver or white or black, all nice! What fun!

Do these Gunnar Roadies have room for fenders? (sigh)

Mimi, I believe the Gunnar Sports have room for fenders. I currently have a Roadie... will probably be moving to a Sport. Here's the Gunnar Roadie... the Sport is just a teeny bit smaller - and this is the color I'm considering...it's the first picture on this page.

I like that green. Trek420 has a Motobecane with a similar shade of green and it's very pretty.
Awww, Flosshilde the Waterford wants you to be SURE to post pics of your Gunnar so she can say "Hi" to her cousin...

It's nothing that fancy, I found (yes found, and yes my shop ran it through police records, not hot, just abandoned) a 70's-80's French Motobecane Mixte and for the color alone, like metalic green tea I had to keep it.
My LBS is fixing it up. I keep asking Chris "what do you think of..." "it's been decided" so seems they know what I want.

Yeah, I love the green! Knot, your Waterford is georgeous! How did you decide on a color for yours? I have the Waterford colors to choose from too!
Trek, some things you just *know*! I can't wait to see a picture of yours as well! I love vintage bikes.
The paint book is on it's way from Gunnar... should be here today or tomorrow.:D

I really like the red with cream or orange with cream. In case Knot doesn't see this, she bought her bike used, didn't exactly choose the color. Or she did, when she saw the bike.

Jeannie - what about green with orange and yellow flames? That way, when you go whizzing by the rest of us, we'll know it's you!

Lovely Waterford, Knotted! These fine old steel classics really have character, don't they? I like pink and green together, too, even have a bike with those colors. The 1990 Merckx CE I got off eBay has a Team Weinmann paint job - dark purple and shocking pink with pearl white panels and lime green accents (hence I call her Barbie's Playbike). Fabulous bike. I should post pix after DH gets around to redoing her - currently she's stem- and bar-less.

Yeah, I bought Flossie from Limewave here on TE. She is such a gorgeous color of deep gold, I can't imagine a color I'd rather have. I contacted Waterford about getting some touch-up paint for her, and they said they don't have that color of gold any more. (They recommended Testor's model paints.)
The Waterford paint is just lovely and rich, so I'm sure whatever color you choose will be beautiful!

;) Yeah, I won't be whizzing by anyone!
I'd considered at first some sort of fade, but have re-considered. I loved my Colnago, with all the pretty colors and fades, but I really think I just want the classic look this time. I loved my Wineberry over gold Roadie, so I want to do something similar, just a different color.
