When I ride in a dark with the Niterider on, my Polar doesn't record speed, distance, cadence and HR, only the altitude. Does anyone have the same problem?

A friend told me that his bike light (in this case Light and Motion Arc) caused interference with his computer. I thought he was insane. I couldn't believe that a light could cause a problem like this. But mine does it too.
I did a little research. It has something to do with the radio frequency emitted by the light that makes the computer go crazy (I think that's the technical term for it).
I assume you are using a wireless computer. If it is really important, you might try keeping the light and computer as far apart as possible. Or you might try using a wired computer.
Some Polar HR monitors are "encoded", to prevent such interferences... I can totally imagine it happening with the power-generating mechanism in your wheel...

MY HRM is coded and I don't get that problem with either my Jet lights or my Light and Motion Vega. It did interfere with my speedometer. Moving them apart did help.
