Hi

Just wondered what everyone's favourite knicks were? I am looking at getting a few new pairs, need some ideas.

After enduring about 4 rides with hideous chamois bunching/chafing, I got a pair of Terry Plus 1X knickers.

They fit great, and no more chafing.

Also, there is a custom place called Boure.com which makes really really nice knickers, you can get standard or custom sizes.

I only wear knickers cuz my legs are still too tubby.

I just picked up a pair of Louis Garneau knicks today.
They come down to midway between my knee and ankle- I believe you were having problems with your knicks coming down just below the knee.
I had no problems with them riding up at all..and I have to say I really like the LG chamois. Very comfy- no chafing, and they are supposed to have a ventilated chamois to help with heat buildup.

I've tried Primal Wear, Mt Borah, Ascent and LG shorts- I come back to the Garneaus every time. They are that much more comfortable.

Good thing I was wearing them today too- it was really hot so I almost wore shorts- but I wanted to keep my knees warm. Did a giant endo, and skidded along the trail on my thighs. Had I not been wearing the knicks, I would've been ripped apart from the gravel. As it was- I got a whale of a bruise that took some time to come up- it burns like hell- but the knicks- indestructable. One small part about the size of a piece of rice that looked like it had melted. Picked it right off....
I was always concerned about what happened if you wiped out in these things, no underwear and all. Now I know. They don't disintegrate like I was afraid they would!!! : )

You should see my face.

Kimba:

I adore LG stuff, however its not available anywhere in the bigger sizes. I noticed they are making some xxl stuff know which is great , but I can't find it.

Is there an online store in Canada that I can order them from.
I was once married to a Canadian and lived in Windsor, Ont, and everyone wore LG. Their stuff is great.

Also, I had the bunching/chafing thing with some terry shorts which I now think were too big. They are an old style. They pulled up into my crotch and gave me a wicked crotch wedgie.

The result was horrible red welts. Took a week to heal.

I know you can order from the Team Estrogen site- I think they have a range of sizes... I'm pretty sure they carry the LG jerseys in XXl as well.
I was looking at the Fly Gurlz jersey - since they were the ones I was riding with yesterday. heheheh!
Good folks to be riding with you when you endo, huh?

anyway- I think there are some LBS on line here- I can check for you. My knicks were ordered in for me by my LBS, they don't carry them all the time. Took only a few days to come in.They were $65 Cdn- I think that's a pretty good price!!!(just to give you a ball park...)

Oh yeah- as far as larger sizes of biking shorts-
I know Mt. Borah claims to have larger sizes- but they seem small to me. Case in point- I ordered a pair of baggy mountain biking shorts with the lycra liner/chamois.

I feel like I'm Baby Huey in them! Feels like I've got a Depends tucked in the butt! I hate them!

I then tried a pair of men's baggy mtn shorts- they FIT lots better- but the chamois sucks.Weird shape for me- therefore: saddle sore!!!
What am I to do???

Oh yeah- and to make it worse!
The lycra inner shorts legs extend beyong the bottom of the baggy shorts legs. So it looks like I'm wearing two sets of shorts...
Is this normal? The men's ones I have don't do that!
