I'll check with ba by email. She was doing ok last I heard from her.
I'm doing pretty good...thanks for asking!!!
Most of the wreck injuries are healed. My arm is still in a splint! I hate it!!! I liked the cast better. But only 2 more weeks of this. And I can ride my bike. I'm planning a ride today!!!
I still can't swim and I'm having a hard time running. Somehow the wreck did something to my right groin and every time I run it hurts. So I'm wokring on that.
But considering where I was I'm very happy to be moving around now!
And how are you?????? Swimming? Cycling? I sure wish you could give me some swim lessons.

A splint doesn't sound like much fun at all. At least you can still ride.
I am doing pretty alright I guess. The break is healed so i dont have to wear a cast or big huge brace. I have 2 more therapy sessions left and if my arms not straight by then I go back to the doctor and he will decide if it needs surgery or to rebreak it to straighten it completely b/c its still about 13 degrees from straight. We'll see. I really dont want to do either of those options... I have this strap on brace that i have to sleep in for atleast 2 more months. I HATE it alot. I can swim and practice fine just not like before.. But besides that I am great :D

I'm so glad that you are doing so well!!!! I do hope that you get that arm straightened out without surgery or rebreaking! yikes!!!! Let us know what happens. Is it that you can't straighten out your arm at the elbow?

Yeah its the elbow, its not straightening or bending even close to normal. I guess for now i'll just keep stretching and wait and see what happens next week. Talk to ya'll later! kt

Hi Katie and Silver -
I've been absent and haven't kept you up to date. Sorry. I blame the changes in my routine due to the surgery. The Lortab messed with my head too.
I took my final two road bike rides on 12-13 and 12-14. The weather was so nice and I enjoyed 22 milers both days. That gave me a total of 1,331 miles for the year. That is darn good considering the fact that I work night shift full time. I got so strong and fast that I felt absolutely great.
The surgery was 12-15 and it went well. The cyst is gone. The doctor had to cut and cauterize a ligament in order to remove the cyst. So, recovery is slow, but I'm doing great with stretching and have started lifting one pound weights. I am allowed to ride my trainer again this Sunday. Soon I'll be back on the road bike and mountain bike. YAY!
I'm still wearing my splint at work because the patients are unpredictable at times. I leave it off other than that.
I hope you don't need more surgery, Katie. Oh, that would be so hard to deal with. Ask Silver. She has had her share of set backs. She can be supportive.
I enjoyed my 3 weeks off work. I NEVER get bored at home. I have many interests and stayed busy every day. I couldn't bake homemade bread though. Bummer. I love doing that.
I am hoping I made the right decision in regard to having the surgery. Time will tell. I decided to have the surgery mainly because I'd been having wrist pain for almost 3 years. That got old.
I hope your doctor continues to help you make the best decisions.
Good luck.
Barb
