I did the Sidney Lanier Century this weekend. It was a route around Lake Lanier which is a man-made lake just north of Atlanta. Well, sorta... Even though the course was well-marked, we weren't always paying close attention. At one point, we missed a turn and had to double back to get back on the route. Then, we took a wrong turn at the place where the metric century and the full century split and ended up on the metric route. From our bike computers we figured out that we had done around 75 miles. So, more than the metric (62 miles) but not quite a full century.

Even though I didn't meet my goal of 100 miles, I still feel like this was a great accomplishment. The course was rolling hills and the temp was in the upper 80's so it was quite a challenging ride.

Now I have to find another century to try so I can take another shot at reaching my goal!

congrats! That is an accomplishment all on it's own. I'm hoping to do my first century next year or maybe even this fall if I get really brave!
