Anyone ever do any bike touring, either self-supported or one of those deluxe fully supported ones? What were the best and the worst things about them? What would you have done differently?

We've done a fully self supported trip down the California Coast, camping all but two nights. The best thing was getting up close and personal with Big Sur. The worst was Thom losing his wallet the first day out.

We've also done a credit card tour around the Big Island with a gear transfer service.
