Ok last easter someone on the te site mentioned Cadbury eggs, not the big one's , the little one's with the crunchy shell. Had to check them out and got hooked. I was so sad when you could not buy them anymore. Well I was in the market the other day and looking at all the christmas candy (I normally don't buy any unless it is special) and there they were. They might be round and not egg shaped but they are cadbury eggs. They are christmas colored and just as tasty. I could have bought more then one bag but I held back. Just wanted to share in case some of you did not know about these crunchy chocolate delights! they are different then M and m's. I like them more!

If they freeze OK, you can stock up on them and portion them out to yourself until you can buy the Easter ones. I do that with those Dove dark chocolate little easter eggs (foiled covered ones).

Ooooh, Cadbury's....many of my relatives worked for Cadbury (at least the ones living in Brum). My husband used to buy an entire box o' eggs to put in the freezer and dole them out one at a time over a few months. I finally told him that I was getting too fat from that practice!
Love Cadbury's...it's not fair that we can't get proper Cadbury chocolate in the States. Have to go to Canada to get anything resembling the proper article. Or spend vast amounts of money at the import shops. Fortunately BC is not that far away!

And I thought I was the only one with that complaint! I got hooked on their Premium Dark Burnt Almond bars when I was touring in Nova Scotia in September and of course they are not available in the States. I found a good replacement in what I thought was a surprising source. If you are a dark chocolate lover, I'd recommend trying Hershey's Extra Dark (http://www.hersheys.com/products/details/extradark/). I find their Cranberries, Blueberries, & Almonds bar to be a good substitute for the Cadbury bar that I got hooked on. That way it's a little easier for me to replenish my chocolate stock - although a friend in New Brunswick did offer to ship the Cadbury bar to me.

If you look at the label of US made Cadbury bars, the licensee is Hershey. You cannot, in fact, request Cadbury in England to ship you a box of any of their chocolate, because the trade agreement with Hershey preclude them from doing so. Hershey chocolate is not nearly as sweet as Cadbury chocolate. Either we get it from rellies in England, or import shops. Even then, sometimes the import shops don't have ENGLISH Cadbury's, they offer (to me) spurious Cadbury chocolates from South Africa and the like:( . Different countries have different tastes in chocolate, and in the case of South Africa, the formulation is done so as to withstand the heat. So it doesn't taste the same as the English Cadbury's  .

Interesting thread. My preference in mass produced chocolate is Green & Black - an organic choice. The Maya Gold is fabulous, it has spices in it! yummy. But I melt before Purdy's chocolates. I was so happy when I realized there is a Purdy's store in my new home town. :D
Now I must say I do like those Cadbury mini eggs....but they are sweeter than I want, and totally addictive. I'm going to do my best to not notice the Christmas ones this year!! Thanks for the heads up!
Hugs and butterflies,
