Have you gotten your new Cervelo in yet? I'm sure you would've posted pics, but I've been anxiously awaiting your newest arrival along with you.
When are you supposed to get it? You KNOW we want lots of pics when he/she arrives!
HA! HA!
Funny you should ask... I am about to leave to pick her up from the LBS.
The bike arrived this past week, but I wasn't able to get the box until today.
So, at Noon I rushed right up to the LBS to get it fit. And... it FIT!!!! :D I don't have to sell her... she is mine... ALL MINE!!!
I also love the fact that I got my bike at Christmas time!
My Dad bought my pedals. My Mom bought my Terry saddle.
My boyfriend... bought:
* A wireless bike computer
* A tool bag with all the goodies needed to change a flat
* New bar tape (the red was horrible looking)
* A water bottle cage
* A new seat post
* The fitting!
As you can see, my dear sweet boyfriend was very generous. I have all I could of dreamed of Christmas!
I will post pictures as soon as we pull them off the camera. I got some pictures of when the bike was being put together, and when I was getting fit.
I am also going to take one when I go up there in a few mintues. I want one of me BEAMING beside her, in all her FAST glory!
After the fitting was done, I took it for a short spin around the parking lot. Yea... uuummm... being in aero position was *scary*. I will need to get use to that! Otherwise, the bike felt... FAST!!!
I am taking her out on Sunday for her first ride. It will be on a bike path, so it will be a good way to get eased into aero position riding.
Thanks for asking TriGirl... I can't WAIT to show her off. What a beautiful tri bike I own *pinches herself to see if she's dreaming*. :D

KSH- have you never ridden aero before? It's quite a diff. feeling, eh? You'll LOVE it, tho!! So much faster! Once you get the hang of steering/maneuvering you'll be able to do all kinds of things when aero. The most difficult parts for me were learning to get in and out of aero w/out crashing, and getting my neck in "shape" to be in that position.
During training and racing the IM- I had developed enough skill to eat aero, rest my chin on my hand (elbows on pads make for a great chin rest- although not so *aerodynamic*), drink, shift, make sandwiches w/ crackers and wine, and even change out food from my rear pockets to bento box and back. You'll be amazed at what you can do when you get used to the position (I'm working on napping when aero :p ).
Tri bike geometry is a little steeper than road bike geometry with aeros (which is why I haven't gone to a tri bike yet), so that may take some getting used to. You'll have sooooo much fun with your new friend!
Will you post some pics already??? I'm dying over here.... :cool:
TriGirl... no, I have never ridden in aero before.
I look forward today when I feel secure riding in that position and I can stear straight. Today... was NOT that day. I put in 14 miles on the bike, and it was nice... but it will be awhile before I get up more miles on it... and about 2 of those miles were in aero.
I can't wait till I have the skills like you do. :)
OK, let me see if I can get these pictures up. I am not very skilled at this stuff.
OK, I did it! Here is one more. When I was getting my bike fit.
And here is my saddle and pedals...along with the weight of my bike.

Oh, stop me from drooling... your bike is so beautiful!!! WOW!!! I love her! And you look GREAT on her- fits you like it was made for you! Woo hoo! Thanks for posting so many pics! Glad you got to take her out for a longish spin today. Don't worry- you'll get the aero skills FAST with a beauty like that under you (and don't let me fool you- my skills are nowhere near excellent).
I must say, you and your bike are a match made in heaven (and having only seen the pic of you in your avatar, you're a beauty along with your bike). Sorry if that sounded weird.
Thanks again for posting the pics! I hope you have many, many happy miles w/your new ride- I know they will be speedy ones! :)

Oh yeah, I love the set-up of the bike shop where you can see yourself on your bike. Cool touch because I always wonder how I look on it, and when you're getting fit it's nice to know what "right" is supposed to look like.
I may mention that to my LBS (and he may ignore me, but it's worth a try).

GREAT pics, KSH! She's (he's?) beautiful. You look awesome in the fitting picture... just take the background out and put a road underneath you. ;)
I'm looking forward to trying aero, even on my road bike. A tri bike is a thing to behold, though. You'll be so fast, you really will look like a bee as you buzz on by!

what a GREAT Christmas present!

OK, for some odd reason I thought you live in Australia.... yea, I'm nuts.
I like RBM... don't get me wrong... but they could NEVER fix the gearing issue with my Trek 1000... that I purchased there. I took it back a few times, and then I finally had to give up on getting into the big ring for many months.
Dustin (who has since left.... and I am so UPSET!) was FINALLY able to fix my bike... and I have done my best to get PCF my business ever since.

HA! I can only hope. I was moving like a turtle the other day.

When I was looking at buying a road bike, I was going to RBM. The person that I started talking to, I was not the most comfortable with. I knew what I wanted, then talking to others, they did not seem interested in me because I only wanted to spend a couple of thousand (not $5000+). I called PCF and they had the bike I wanted in the size that I needed (RBM did not), so I went there. I have not done major cycling shopping at the other store since. I feel like family at PCF. Are you going to do the Happy New Rear on New Years?

That's good that PCF worked out for you. I want to buy my next road bike from there... but I am looking at Giants... and they don't sell that brand. I'm loyal, but I go where the item I want to purchase is.
I do think that RBM is still a solid shop with a huge selection, but they have gotten way too big I think. Although, I am typically always assisted when I go in there.
I won't be doing the New Years ride... as I'm sure I'll be hung over. :D
What a gorgeous bike!!!! Can't believe I missed this thread! I think Cervelos are some of the most beautiful tri bikes. I always pause to admire when I walk past one while setting up in transition. Congratulations! (and I'm with bluetree...must not covet...:p )
