I was wondering why I'm not seeing many "daily ride reports", and then I realized half the US is under weather siege!

Well, here's mine anyway...

Here in upstate NY we had awindy rainstorm last night, but today no rain and pretty mild compared to some others of you- 45 degreesF with medium gusty winds.
I got my bike back in tune and was eager to try it out today again! Did my usual 21 mile ride and all went well- it's shifting beautifully now, better than new. :p
I am getting a better sense of the layering I need for various weather conditions, and today I managed to be dressed exactly right- I love when that happens. It means I feel nice and fresh and cool, but not cold, and not too overheated on the hills. Cool in a nice goose-bumpy refreshing sort of way. I got home and DH complimented me on my rosey cheeks. :)

It's a bit windy here in Scotland too. I went out cycling today with my new cycling friend. We went uphill for a while, stopped for lunch and then cycled back downhill.

I hope that we can go cycling together again.

I've been out on my road bike 4 weeks in a row now. I might get out next weekend and that'll make five. After that I'll be away for a month. I'm heading to the side of the Atlantic that most of you live on. I'll be in Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Ontario and Quebec, travelling round and visiting old friends. I can't wait.

Ahhhhh... cycling. What's that again? (I seem to have forgotten how my road bike works). :p

Glad you both had good rides! Think of us fondly as we try to melt from underneath the snow and ice. :)

32 degrees, and Sunny here in the morning..burrrrrrrrrrrrr ,but no wind. I wear thermal underwear top ,and bottom, shorts ,and some long pants. I finally got some gloves that keep my hands warm (after about 6 miles or so). I have had the same pair of shorts since August. I wash them every other time in the washing machine I think that is the reason my crotch feels like its being rubbed raw. They were some cheap Nike ones I bought when I first bought a bike. What is the best brand to get????? Good padding on the front top. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh , I rode 27 miles.

Do you want shorts, knicker/capris, or long tights?

I don't wear shorts- I have better advice about knickers or long tights. Hey, I think you should call TE shop up and talk with the women there about what you need. But if i were you, and only were going to buy ONE pair of shorts- I'd make sure they were the best I could get. TE employees know their shorts! :)

Sugoi Flex Shorts - great.

Another pair though, which I have really, really like, both for color (another thing I fancy) and comfort....the Louis Garneau power shorts. Yeap, they are expensive, but the fabric is great, they are cool, colorful, and the chamois is the real deal, very substantial.

Today's ride? blah blah it was cool, etc. Fun part though, was steamrolling a group of 4 guys on a long climb.

Better still? heh, I was wearing my new TE Hill Slug jersey. That'll show'em! :D

Here is my report. Beautiful SoCal weather, 65 miles. I think when we started it was 55 and by the time we got back it was 75. We rode from Monrovia to the Ontario Airport. Hit some wind in Ontario. We had to go east, cuz had we gone west, we would have hit the USC/UCLA game traffic. Have a great day/weekend all.

Went on a group ride that was supossed to be a 1/2 century. It was about 40 when we started. One of my friends was there, and didn't know the roads, so I was going to stick with him, and we usually ride about the same pace. He was having a hard time today, so we ended up doing only 22, all pretty slow. The good thing about being separated from the group was that I got to try out my new aerobars. Boy, I like those things. Makes everything seem easier. Still need some steering work. I have a tendency to wobble a bit.

We went on a 30 mile ride with the group I rode with last summer. They are part of a local cyclfing club known for very fast rides, but this group is older and wiser (but very good riders). The ride started in our town center and was described as 2 groups; one fast , going 45 miles and a slower group going 30 miles. Since we didn't care about speed and had errands to do later, we chose the slower group. It turned out that the "fast" group was really just people who ride like I do and the leader tried to convince us to come along, but there's always a next time.
It was great, about 45 degrees and some good wind gusts. I started out with my new lobster gloves, which felt very weird. I could only shift with my index finger. But, I took them off after riding to the meeting place and put on my lighter weight full gloves. I was dressed right for once, too. A wool blend medium jersey and my windbreaker. I just had to unzip a little as we rode. We went on lots of streets off of my after work loop that is mostly on main roads. I will be able to have some variety next spring! The ride actually went up our street, a pretty long hill loop near the end, so we just peeled off, and went up our driveway.
We decided that we will probably join this club. The leader asked us to lead some rides, after we helped out with a few issues with different riders. We will still lead for AMC, but this group has more rides and a different vibe.

Our MS 150 team went for our 1st team ride. The weather was chilly, but I just got some fleece-y tights. (My job was also very cool and gave me a substantial bonus and I got a pair of Mavic Aksium Race wheels. Droooooooolllllllll...) We drove out to Chappell Hill and were going to ride out to Washington-on-the-Brazos park (about an hour's ride outside Houston), however the roads were TERRIBLE. We came flying down this hill and I thought I was going to fly off because both DH and I were fish-tailing the whole way down. We were going to do 42 miles, but were only able to do 20. I'm not so happy with my ride, but I also have gotten mature enough to know when it's time to stop. I have got to get on that trainer and work on hills!!!!

suzieqtwa-I have a pair of Shebeest shorts that are fantastic. I LOVE the chamois in them. I also like the name. HEE HEE
