I am going beyond my bike themed guest bath and also having a bike themed guest room.
This mirror is such a great way to use all the spare tubes DH *claims* he will patch one day. I know he won't, so I am going to recycle them another way.:D

I will start on this after the new year and post plenty of pictures!

What a great idea! Not that I want to flat any time soon....but I need to collect a few more tubes before I have enough to weave into a frame! My kitchen/family room have a general bike theme, but mostly vintage posters and such.
Now if someone could come up with a way to make a wine rack out of....oh....bottle cages?

Maybe he's just aging his tubulars like Lance. (I saw a documentary on Lance and Team Postal, and the guy stored all the tires in a wine cellar to age them.)
In all seriousness, those are some NEAT ideas.

I think your ideas are wonderful!! You are lucky to have a partner who also loves cycling. If I tried to decorate ANYWHERE with a cycling theme, nope, wouldn't go over well at all.

Thanks everyone! It is such a shame DH got motivated to throw out some junk when we moved. He had some old semi-damaged Mountain Bike Rims I had been bugging him to throw away, he finally did and now I see the magazine rack!! Those rims would have been salvagable for this purpose. I am considering perusing goodwill to make that for the bath room or guest room.
I really want to start this project NOW, but my checkbook laughed at me.

I love the ideas, Amanda! I bookmarked that page with all the great ideas. Maybe one day I'll steal some of those ideas....
As for your checkbook laughing- that made me smile. Now that you're in your new house- it'll probably laugh at you for a while! :)

I've got 3 or 4 old tubular rims that do their duty stretching tires every once in awhile. If I'm lucky, my spare tires get to age a year or two before I need to use them.

Try a bike shop. They probably throw away damaged rims all the time. But if it's too bent, it won't lay flat against the wall. Look for rims with only flat spots and no side-to-side bends.
Pssst... If you can't find one, I could make you a good deal. You can pick a rim with old Clement cement (reddish brown) or Tubasi (whitish) or Continental (yellowish). I assume the cement color must match your room decor.
