If you have a problem with non riding friends and family thinking you are a tad strange because you are a cyclist then get one of these and completely freak them out. Pop it up in the lounge room.....what a conversation starter.:D

$5000+, um yeah....
Think I'll opt for the simple approach of riding to the top of the mountain and just spending the night. Seems cheaper, more scenic, and a tad less inducive of claustrophobia though I might want a thick sweater and foam pad.....

This time of year a REALLY thick sweater & pad - just got an email that Vail received 7" of new snow last night.
That said, since I live in VA & cycle in the Rockies each summer, I have sent the link to my son & told him to forget the new carbon handle bars for me & to get me the tent!

it's okay. if the altitude is so high that you need a tent to train for it,
I'll take the car!
we have hundreds of great mountain passes here to sweat to your heart's content on, and all are below 15,000 feet!

Trek - no kidding! Knowing him, he'd find a way to use one of his old dome tents & attach a fan & a hose to it, then take a picture of it to "prove" to his buds that he gave me one!

Just got this from him:
"Yeah that's exactly what you need."
No promises.....hmmmm.....do you think he's gonna spring for it? :D

Sad but true story: my DH found out that Levi Leipheimer has his bedroom converted to an altitude tent, so now he "jokes" that he'd only like a small one. Not this Christmas!

People would definitely think I'm weird if I set up a Colorado Altitude simulator, since I live in Colorado, hee hee. :p
