Just got a notice about Adventure Cycling 2007 Tours. You can view them here. http://adventurecycling.org/tours/index.cfm

This is the non-profit group that sponsored Bikecentennial 30 years ago. "When you sign up for an Adventure Cycling trip, you?ll feel good knowing that all net proceeds from our trips go back into our efforts to make the world a better place to ride via advocacy, outreach, and the creation of new cycling routes."

There are supported and self-contained tours available. For you Underground Railroad fans, there is a 7 day supported tour from Niagara Falls to Owen Sound, Ontario, on Lake Huron?s Georgian Bay, ending with Owen Sound?s 145th Emancipation Festival. Also a 48 day self-contained ride of the entire UGRR route from Mobile, Alabama, to Ontario.

Adventure Cycling puts on GREAT tours. I've done two - the "old" version of Cycle Washington, which they don't do anymore, and Cycle Montana. The trips are small enough to be personal (I think we had 90 on Cycle Washington) and by the end of the 2nd day, the entire staff knows everyone's name.

The food is excellent (and they accommodate vegetarians, etc.), the routes are well laid out, and the staff is so friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Jeff & I are planning to do an ACA trip in 2007. Just can't decide which one!

If this has already been discussed, forgive me, but have of you ever gone on a tour sponsered by www.womantours.com? Their Cape Cod adventure is looking more and more like a possibility for June. I'll have my new bike by then....and just MAYBE can keep up with the pack.

What do you think?
