OLN last night

Ok - this is cycling related - anybody happen to watch OLN last night, about Lance Armstrong (can't remember the name of the show). But it showed him kicking back while his legs were being massaged after a ride. Man, while this guy was rubbing his legs, all I can say is WOW :D .........ok....guess I will also say "wish it was me rubbing his legs :eek: !!!!

I wanted to watch it and I totally forgot about it last night! I kept thinking that I needed to program Tivo to record the series and I missed already the first part. Bummer!! I will have to do it once I get home tonight for sure.

I enjoyed the show, it's nice to see Lance...

My husband and I get very excited when Lance pops up on tv.
He's an inspiration to society and a damn amazing athelete. I didn't realize he has to take so many tests....awesome...

The only sporting event I watch on tv is the Tour De France and downhill races.


I never thought I'd get so involved with watching the Tour.

This may sound almost blasphemous, but I'll ask the question anyway... Is there anyone out there who ISN'T a Lance fan? I don't know much about him personally (apart from the book), but I want to see him get beaten. Some of my happiest moments from last year's tour was when a couple of blokes called Robbie McEwen and Bradley McGee worked to keep that yellow jersey away from Lance in the first couple of stages of the tour, with help of course from Stuart O'Grady and Baden Cooke (Green jersey winner overall).

Maybe this year a guy called Cadel Evans (previous stage winner in Giro d'Italia and able to outsprint Mario Cippolini) on T-mobile can help to beat Lance. We'll have to wait and see.:D

Can't say I'm a huge Lance fan. I tend to root for the underdog.

That said, if Lance didn't exist, we would have only a tiny fraction of the cycling coverage we enjoy here in the states, so for that I'm grateful to him.

But I enjoyed the OLN coverage of the Vuelta late last summer in part because he wasn't in it, so it wasn't "all Lance all the time" :rolleyes:

Looking forward to seeing what the Aussie boys you mentioned can do this year, especially Stuey in his new green Credit Agricole kit. ( just needs to add a bit of yellow there and he'll be in Aussie colours!! ;) )

Personally I can't wait for there to be another Tour de France winner, if just for some variation.

It's true, Armstrong has done a great deal for cycling in the USA but once he's no longer riding / winning the TdF I wonder if the interest in cycling wane?

USPS are also ending their sponsorship at the end of this year so where will that leave all the other riders who've devoted their career and sacrifices victories to getting Lance to the top? Maybe another big US sponsor will appear to take care of them. Hope so.

I just hope there won't be a big vacuum once the Golden Age of Lance is over.

Very excited about seeing who will be the one to bring Lance's rule to an end.

I like Lance, but I think Tyler Hamilton could give him a run for his money this year at the tour. He came in 4th last year with his broken collarbone, an amazing feat, and is really riding strong this season - just won the Tour de Romandie (I think that's right), I heard on OLN.

Whether you like him or not, root for him or not, Lance is pretty amazing.
So are the all the other guys who are attempting to beat him! I think somewhow, he manages to pull more desire to win and stubborn determination out of himself than most other racers. Who knows why! And of course being born with all the physical attributes needed to be a bike racer helps, too. :D

It would be hard for me not to root for Lance this year......... partly 'cause he's from the USA, but also 'cause it is so awesome to see records broken. If he wins 6, it would just be totally amazing.

If he doesn't I will be thrilled for whoever manages to pull out a victory. Whoever it is will have earned it! Personally, I like Iban Mayo........ not that I expect him to win, but I sure do like watching him! ;) What a cutie!

I think it will be interesting to see how the whole Vinokourov(another hottie!) and Ullrich thing plays out. What's the saying? "Too many chiefs...."

Lance is egotistical, bull-headed, hot-tempered, noncommittal (relationships with women), morally incorrect in a lot of ways (just in my opinnion...his spiritual beliefs are not the same as mine and that makes our morals different).

All this being said........there is no other rider out there who can punish himself day in and day out; take the heat, cold and rain; ride with incredible mental toughness and attack at just the right time like Lance Armstrong. He is committed to his training and mastering his sport because he LOVES to ride! He thrives on the thrill of attacking and leaving his opponents in the dust. No one rides like he does...thus the 5 wins of the most gruelling race in the world...all after defeating a bout with cancer that almost killed him (testicular, lung and brain cancer at that).

I guess it's like the Barry Bonds issue in baseball... either you love him or you hate him! Either way, you have to respect what he's acomplished and give him the credit he deserves. In the end, it all comes down to ability and guts...and Lance has proven he's got both.

Just my HUMBLE opinnion.........don't shoot me!

Mighty Mitre, I hate to burst your bubble, but at the end of last year Stuart O'Grady entered into a contract with Cofidis, who won't be racing this year's tour due to recent events. It sucks, doesn't it? I hate to see this sort of thing happen to one of my country's best ever riders. All of the controversial events took place before he signed with the team, but the allegations only arose after he started with Cofidis. He is innocent, but is suffering because he signed a contract with the wrong team at the wrong point in time. :mad:

Hi Ausgirl - I realised the other day I was talking a load of whatsit when I said Stuey has just moved to CA. Of course, he's with Cofidis now. One of our British guys, Bradley Wiggins has just moved to CA. Don't ask me how I can get them confused - they don't exactly look alike. :p

Are you sure Cofidis aren't riding the TdF? I know Kelme are out because of all the doping alergations but I thought Cofidis were ok now. They're one of the biggest French teams - I'd be suprised if they weren't taking part.

O'Grady ought to be able to bale out to another team like Astoloa. Afterall, the problems were when he didn't ride for them so it's not very fair. :mad:
