View Full Version : Show me your AV Buff money!

We’re ready to collect your funds so here are the details. There will be limited quantities (and this is a one time order) so the early bird gets the Buff.
Design and Colors
The Buff design is still to come but we’re envisioning something with an all over chain ring design – using our signature gazelle chain ring of course – with “Amici Veloci/Fast Friends” in the borders. Buff’s designers in Spain will be working on the design very soon. There is enough interest to order two versions: one with a black background and one with red.
Price
$18.50 per Buff -- includes uninsured USPS postage to US locations
Australia, New Zealand and UK orders – add $3.20 per Buff
Canada – add $2.20 per Buff
All others – add me to your buddy list and we’ll figure it out.
Ordering
Best method: PayPal to sarahandbubba at sbcglobal dot net.
(A note about our friends at PayPal - if they send you an email stating that I have to approve receipt of the payment, double-check the email address you entered. Your order will be off in the ether, as aka_kim put it.)
2nd best because it’s via snail mail: Cashier’s Check or Money Order (request address through PM)
Order info: name (REAL AND FORUM), address, email, quantity of each color (black and red available)
Quantity available
Quantities are limited. Operators are standing by. This means that you are only guaranteed a Buff if you order now. I expect the deadline will be around Nov 26th but I’ll know more once I get a sample design.
Order early, order lots. :D
DON'T FORGET TO TELL ME HOW MANY OF EACH COLOR!
Let me say that again, "DON'T FORGET TO TELL ME HOW MANY OF EACH COLOR!" :D

Ordered three AV Buffs
Unfortunately, I clicked the link to Buff's website that SK posted on Bikejournal and ended up stocking up on a couple more, including a few new thermal buffs. They have some new designs there that are really nice, including one featuring a cow! Couldn't resist.

TS - should I have received an order from you already?
Dar - payment is just through PayPal.
www.buffusa.com will give you access to the manufactuer's site and the how-to videos (guess I should watch it someday).
Arrival - best case scenario is around New Year's Eve but remember we still have to get design, production, shipping from Spain, shipping for AV's Yewtah headquarters (4-6 weeks). However, a nice card with an IOU sounds like a superb present. Once we get the design, I'll probably have a picture you could print to put inside the card. Include a write-up about all your special TE friends and the birth of AV. And what about January's secret sister event? Be prepared!

Can a buff be squished up under a helmet and around your ears?
I'm a huge neck gaiter fan, and can't find mine. If a buff can double as a helmet liner/ear warmer.... weeeeeel, then maybe I could rationalize buying one. (hey, neck gaiter and helmet liner *and* AV!!)
Actually, I could rationalize one any way.:p

SK,
Thanks, I've done the photo of the item thing before - so my friends expect it!
Yes, I did send through Paypal, and got a notice that it will be completed when you accept the payment - hopefully I didn't send it to the wrong email! I think it's amusing you have to accept it - I don't know why anyone would turn down money from someone.
PM me if you still don't get it, and maybe we can work out a deal.
BTW – Can’t remember if I told you my dog's name is "Bubba" - it's short for Beelzebub. His tag says “Murphy” – but the former name fits better.

You can do almost anything with a buff. But, be aware, the ones on order are the coolmax version - so just add a little bit of warmth. Under the helmet, my preferred style of wear is what I call the Katherine Hepburn - over the head, ears, and around the neck, leaving the face open. Gives just a little bit of warmth for ~55+ degree riding. For less than that, you can double it over in a skull cap type design so it goes over the head twice - or fold it over several times so it just goes over the ears. All are pretty thin for under a helmet.
In the summer I just pull it over the head as a sweat band under the helmet with a "tail" hanging down the back.
I love the streaming video instruction video, want to meet this guy!

TS - you are the 2nd person who has said they ordered and I have received no email from PayPal and PayPal shows nothing. I'm a premier member so there is no limit on sending/receiving.
What are the Accept and Deny buttons on my Account Overview?
Payments must be accepted or denied in the following cases:
If you have a Business or Premier account: Since the Seller Protection Policy only covers payments sent to the buyer's address on the Transaction Details page, PayPal provides Confirmed Addresses to help you make decisions when you're not covered by the Seller Protection Policy. You may manually screen payments that do not contain a Confirmed Address and weigh the risks yourself.
The payment will be held as Pending until you decide to accept or deny it. If you accept the payment, the transaction will be completed. If you deny the payment, the transaction will be canceled and the money returned to the sender's account. I am assuming this is what you're talking about but I can't find anything that says "click to accept." Sorry to do this publicly, but there may be others with the same problem. Anyone have a suggestion?

Sk-the process is "complete" when you acknowledge you have money there. :) I recieved an email from Pay Pal almost immediately saying I paid you, blah, blah, blah.
Sometimes it does take Pay Pal a little while If the sender of the money does not have a record on Pay Pal showing their payment, then it probably did not go through.

Sk-the process is "complete" when you acknowledge you have money there. :) I recieved an email from Pay Pal almost immediately saying I paid you, blah, blah, blah. What does "when you acknowledge you have money there" mean? I'm not doing anything but logging on and looking at my overview. I'm not actively clicking any buttons.
I'm receiving emails very fast because someone will tell me they're sending a payment and I'll get an email in about 30 secs. But every single one that I can see in PayPal (and I've gotten emails notification for all of these), says status = complete and payment type = instant.
Sometimes it does take Pay Pal a little while If the sender of the money does not have a record on Pay Pal showing their payment, then it probably did not go through.
Should TS just give it PayPal some time? Or check to see if payment went out? It is weird that I can't see the pending payment. One person is sending an e-check but I can see it.

Hope you got my paypal $$$$ for two - one of each color! Thanks for doing this, can't wait.Yes, the PP payment and the email notification were almost simultaneous. That is why TS' payment is puzzling me. Someone from BJ told me he paid also and I can't see a thing.

If you enter the wrong email address for the recipient (which is what I initially did) you get a message that the recipient will receive an email and need to accept receipt ... The bad email address I first used would have gone off into the ether.

Hi Sarah,
I ordered 2, one in each color, but I have not yet received the Pal Pal confirmation - and I frequently use Pay Pal. If I still don't get a confirmation, I'll try again later. Don't want to miss out on the one!!

SO my question is this, I am not pay pal savy, if I did send money to the wrong email address, (which stated the recipient would have to accept, and that the money was sent to the account..)..how can I find out if Sk received it or not? Would someone else receive the moneys instead? And shouldn't it come back to my email address stating that there was an invalid transaction made? Like I said, I am not pay pal savy..I did read the post by Aka_Kim but looks like we had a slightly different message. ( I prefer snail mail stuff to avoid mishaps but wanted to make sure I got in before the cut off date..).hopefully things work out okay..

Everyone, read the ordering instructions in post #1. If you receive a message stating that the recipient has to approve, it means eBay has no matching email address in its system and it is waiting for someone to register with the email address. The attempted transaction will sit there for eternity until then. No one but you can see it.
Read the help file about canceling the transaction and re-enter the email address.

Okay, I went and looked at my paypal account and it says:
Payment To S---- B------ (name blanked for privacy here)
And it's uncleared. I am assuming it wouldn't know your name if I hadn't used the correct info, right?
SadieKate
11-21-2006, 04:19 PM
Some of you have set up PayPal to make an instantaneous transaction.
Others of you have sent eChecks. This is what I see.
Funds Are on the Way!
This eCheck payment will remain "Uncleared" until the funds clear from the sender's account, which usually takes 3-4 business days. If you are shipping an item, please do not ship your item until the funds clear into your PayPal account. You will be notified by email when the funds clear into your PayPal balance.
So your funds are still in transit, Pooks, but the transaction is fine.
