It's a spirit day at school. Did cowboys wear their bandanas inside their collars or outside?

Outside. At least that's the way they wear them in the movies, I think.

Outside. That way they could be pulled up easier to cover one's nose and mouth from the dust and whatnot.

I like Thom's answer. "What difference does it make how authentic you are? Your shirt looks like a tablecloth and your bandana is tie dyed!" :p

What's the deal? It's spirit day at our school, too.
Only in our case, they have to wear red and black. Fortunately her U2 Vertigo tour T-shirt fits the bill....

In Wy-O-Wy-Wyoming, all the cowboys I saw wore then on the outside.
Spirit Day at the schools here just means the wear the school colours.

I declare a spirit day at work today! In honor of spirit day, all my employees will wear cycling clothes, leave the office early and go for a ride.
Yippee!

Wearing a bandana inside the collar makes it an ascot and makes the wearer something other than a cowboy!
