I have a couple smartwool zip t that I love. I would like to add some more wool items to my wardrobe. Do you ladies have any favorite items and brands? What are your thoughts on the different brands on durability, fit, style and comfort? Thanks

I love Ibex's clothing, but stick with SmartWool due to my budget.

I love Ibex but it tends to run big.

My first wool top was an Icebreaker. Very nice.

Then I discovered Smartwool, which I think is better than Icebreaker. It looks less fuzzy after a few washes...

I have the home brand from MEC too. Lesser quality, not as soft as the other three... But still good quality, and much cheaper.

I like the Ibex "woolie" tops as a thin merino under layer, and also to sleep in! Very soft and snuggly but not heavy. (Ibex woolie tops run small so DON'T order smaller than your normal size) :p

I like the Smartwool Hoodies to throw over my base layers during cool bike rides. The hood is thin and snug and fits wonderfully under my helmet. (Get 1 size smaller size than you usually order- the hoodies run large, unlike other SW items.)

you mean that icebreaker started fuzzinr and/ or pilling before the other wool makers. I am sort of sad. It seems so expensive and therefore in my young and inexperienced (some migh say deranged), QUALITY!. but alas i guess not.

It's not that bad!! It's just not AS NICE as the Smartwool stuff (I find - for the types of tops I own). Even in the store I found the finish of the smartwool stuff better than the Icebreaker. But it might be a 'style'. It's not pilling, no!!

Thanks for the replys.
Does anyone have any favorite items that can be worn around town and cycling? I have been wearing the SW zip T everywhere. I don't want to take it off. :D

The Icebreaker stuff seems to be a lot warmer than any of the Smartwool stuff. Is there a Smartwool line that's warmer than the midweight? I have never seen anything heavier than that. I have a midweight crewneck that is my very favorite piece of Smartwool, and also the Saratoga which I think is midweight, but my husband and I both have Icebreaker zip-necks that are much, much warmer than the Smartwool.
