A few newbies who are enjoying the SS swap for the first time are confused about "bike gadgets". Since there was a very open theme this month I thought we could get some ideas together to help the shoppers?
What are some great bike gadgets? I am stumped at:
Tire levers
Mini tool kit for the road (ours is a small holder with patches, tire levers, chain tool)

Bento box (http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?productId=47919280&storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&langId=-1&color=BLACK&img=/media/450475.jpg&view=large)! That way your camera is always handy! (The image is of the large one. The small one is cheaper and perfectly camera or cell phone sized.)

I was thinking water bottles, chain cleaners, cassette cleaner brushes and whatnots, along with these others.
I was also pondering "toys" like Joe Benders: http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&productId=48094615&parent_category_rn=11549407&vcat=REI_SEARCH

I have not been on my bike in so long, I spaced out the part about bike accessories. Thanks for the reminder. Now, what would my SS want/need?

depends on who she is. Some of us think the more lights the merrier (kind of like a christmas tree!)

Me too. :) I was thinking lights that could go on the bike as well as could be used to run with as well.

My Nov SS included a Park Tool "mini tool" with my package and I think that's a GREAT bike gadget!
A tiny tire gauge would also be good.
I think a trip to my LBS is in order...pronto! :)

The greatest thing since sliced bread. Tried it ourselves and it's wonderful....zip! -the tire bead's off! Zip!-the tire bead is back on!

Now I feel guilty cause I didn't buy a cycling gadget for my SS... Oh well Hopefully I got her other interest covered.
But gadgets, Blinky lights, bottle cages, Phone holders, tire levers, saddle packs, those plastic wallets to fit a credit card and a little bit of money but is small enough to fit in a jersey pocket, SOCKS, mini pump, reflectors, those beady things for tire spokes, water bottles,
