I write (as well as draw) when I'm just exceedingly bored at work, so I thought I'd share a silly little poem I wrote a little while ago while flying on "Bawlz" guarana/energy drink... (Yes, I love that name.)
My fingers always drumming
as my mind continues humming
just looking for that something
that isn't such a bore
It's a poison I have seen
trimethylxanthine
they also call it guaranine
on the bottle on the floor...
C-eight, H-ten, N-four, O-two
I'll offer you a few
It enlivens me and you
And we always want for more!
Caffeine intoxication
leads to increased urination
psychomotor agitation
and cardio ills galore
It enters as Caffeine
antagonizing Adenosine
by virtue of structure "purine"
or so is scientific lore.
I've had enough you see
and it's been too much for me
But why not run for coffee
And get a shot (or four?)
(We were talking about George Carlin's book "Brain Droppings" and wondered if they had any relation to "Brain Farts"... at that point, we did the unthinkable and jumped to the logical combination. Brain Sharts. We're not sure what they would be, but I suspect the above may prove a decent example....) :D
