Well, this is Silver's estrogen laden husband again...:D

Silver's not home and won't be for several days. Pneumothorax is worsening and requiring more aggressive treatment.:(

She's bummed and in pain, but prognosis remains good.

Thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the slow initial progress; hopefully the extra rest up front will help speed up the overall recovery process -- gotta find something good about this! (Some of these gals - you gotta keep 'em tied down for awhile or they'd be out there trying out their new bikes!)

Prayers and hugs to Silver and her DH. Thanks for keeping us informed.

It must be so incredibly frustrating to think you are finally going home and then get the aweful news from the dear ol doc that they plan to keep in the hospital even longer. And the food is horrible and time passes so slowly. And the pain would be endured so much more easily if you were in the comfort of your own home......and you feel like a nusance for all who come to visit as its so out of their way. She must be feeling like a burden to you as well, "DH innundated with estrogen".

I will keep you both in my prayers. Please take care and don't lose heart. Today is better than yesterday and tomorrow is just a day away....

Oh, Mr. Silver! I'm sure the two of you are disappointed that Silver has to stay in the hospital a little longer. My husband was hospitalized with very similar injuries several years ago (several broken ribs and a pneumothorax). Each day was a struggle, and it was very depressing when we were told he had to remain hospitalized another day.

But even though it seems like bad news that they haven't released her, try to remember that she is getting the best care possible. And I'm very glad to hear that the prognosis is good. It's just going to take a little more time.

Take care of her. Take care of yourself. And know that we're all thinking of her and hoping for a quick and complete recovery.

((((Silver)))) and ((((Mr. Silver)))) It sounds as though they are not pushing her and that can be a very good thing is these cases. She's gotta breathe with those lungs for a long time yet. With a pneumo putting pressure on delicate tissues, it's so much better that she stays in and gets it taken care of right. They're just giving her the extra TLC and the time she needs. So many get sent home way too soon and the pneumo comes back from another shift in broken ribs and what not. Remember, while the perforation is healing, so are the ribs and that in itself gives her a much quicker and safer recovery in the long run. It's frustrating, I know, to think she's so close to going home but has to stay a little longer. She'll be home soon, so just hang in there.
You are both in my thoughts daily. Sending healing vibes her way.

X.

I also want to thank you for posting updates on Silver's condition. As you can see from all of our posts...we care and are pulling for her with prayers and well wishes.

Remember to take care of yourself too...she's going to need your help once she comes home. And, if she's anything like me (or most women) she'll probably tell you that she can do things for herself, but don't believe her. She's just trying to be brave...pamper and love her!

Silly me, why am I telling you this? Obviously you get it, or you wouldn't be taking the time to keep us informed. Silver is one lucky lady!

Hang in there and keep the faith!

Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on Silver's condition. You are a great guy and I also vote you get to be an honorary TE member! Like others have said, take care of yourself as well as this has to be a very stressful time for you. Know that while Silver is in hospital, she's getting the best care possible and continues to heal albeit slowly. We're all sending healing wishes and warm thoughts and prayers for both of you.. ((((((Hugs))))))

Hi Silver --

Barb here from Perry County. Don't stop believing in recovery. Focus on healing and moments of regaining strength. You are a cyclist and we are a strong bunch. See it in your mind and patiently achieve it.

I am sorry you are going through this.

Thinking of you and your journey.

Barb

Sorry to hear about the additional hospital stay. Healing takes time and has it's own timeline - we unfortunately can't change that. Patience and love will get you through it. Hugs and prayers your way. Thanks for the update Mr. Silver (I really want to say Lone Ranger cuz you guys make a great team!).

LuvnAustin has it right - we women tend to put up a strong front so take good care of her and take some time for yourself too. This too shall pass and we are here to lean on when you need us....

Thanks Mr. SIlver for providing an update. The TE gals really care about its family members.

I'm praying for Silver's recovery, may it be soon and also praying for your health 'cause you need the strength to care for her. The Power of prayer is very strong. It got me through my ordeal. Be patient. Ask for His guidance and strength. Be there for Silver, hold her hand and let her know all is OK no matter what. Bones really do heal fairly quick. Just make sure she follows doctors' advice.

You all take care.
