I just put in an order for the DVD! http://www.witmovie.com/

I am so excited to see this. Don't know that I'll watch it with J, though. It could get embarrassing if I actually drool when Peter Reid comes on screen. :p

I'm not quite through it yet. I watched part of it while I was on the trainer this morning. It's actually not as good as I thought it would be. Peter Reid does look good in it, tho he seems to have some "issues" which really come to light.
All in all it seems to be ok, but I think I actually liked 140.6 better. Maybe because I identified with Christine Webb the tv reporter??
Or maybe it's a case of the trailer being TOO good and setting you up for disappointment??
Don't get me wrong, it's still good. Heck it's about triathlon! I sit and watch streaming video on Ironmanlive for hours at a time, so who am I to judge??!! But it's not oscar material by any stretch.
Let me know what you think after you watch it.

Mmm ... Peter Reid ....

On another forum, folks said Reid was pretty sick or something when they were filming that and criticized the filmmakers for not following another athlete instead.

Unfortunately Netflix doesn't have this, so not sure whether I want to buy it or not.

I have never heard of this. I must investigate further. Drool and inspiration?

I've already shelled out my $30. I can think of two guys who merit that. Peter Reid and the Edge, of U2. I love to watch those guys move. I will pay money to get it on film, as it were. I just bought a new, DVD copy of Rattle and Hum, the U2 movie from the 80s that I also own on video. But I digress.

Sorry to hear it's a bit of a let-down, RM. Oh, sure, now that I've found a great guy, PR lets me know that he wants to go out with me. Sort of. In a way. Through a DVD made for mass consumption. Do you think he was just counting on my buying it??? :p In the article in Triathlete, though, they talked about his girlfriend, so even if this "J" thing falls through, I may still be S.O.L. with Peter.

B3, feel free to borrow it from me or RM (after I've received and watched it a couple of times). I think Lori Bowden is PR's ex-wife, right? Interesting that they profiled the two of them. I can hardly wait to watch it. :D

Bumping this up to the top, 'cause I loved the movie. Finished it yesterday. Happy ending. I thought it was cool that they stuck with Peter Reid, despite the very hard year he had. I cannot believe what he went through, and STILL took 2nd in Kona. Incredible. I recommend it to all you tri-geeks out there. If you're as big a fan of PR as I am, you'll like it all the more. :D Lise
