I did the last real race of the season yesterday, and off road run, bike, run. Anyone that reads the running forum has followed my brick workout reports for the past 8 weeks.
So as was already stated in the race resports for this weekend, the NE was a bit blustery, and we had a monsoon on saturday, which in my case is par for the course, because every time I race, there is a monsoon either the day before or during the race.
The race is billed as a fun one, mud, sweat and beers. We got an awesome hoody sweatshirt for our efforts, and the awards ceremony was a riot. They gave away beer as awards, and then great swag.
Anyway, it was hard. we trained plenty, but it was very hilly and muddy and covered in wet leaves. The second running leg was very tough. Ouchy tough.
But I set a person goal of 1:40, and I made it and came in 4th female. So all in all a good day. A wet muddy, cold, ouchy, windy day. But a good day.
I wore a pink top so everyone would know I was a girl. A muddy, happy girl.
