On cycling that is! ^_^

She's from sydney and has just transferred to a new job. She borrowed one of her (male) friend's bikes to see if she could still ride.

AND SHE COULD AND SHE LOVED IT!

Apart from the fact the bike she was lent was a men's track bike, (she couldn't reach the gears/brakes and the saddle was too thin so she was sore as for a few days she told me) she had a great time!

So since she was up visiting, I put her on my hybrid (to show her what a real saddle felt like) and she LOVED that more.

She's going back to Sydney to test out sooo many hybrids. I told her to come on here to TE when she's ready. I'm soooo proud!

Dang, if only she lived up the street like when we were teens we could go RIDING together!!! LOL

It's allways fun to see your best friend joining.

I think I got one of my friend interested also :p She is already into speedskating and I offered her my spare/winter bike to ride on during the summer months ... just to test if she likes it. And she accepted the offer. :D

That's so cool, lsr! At least you can enjoy riding together when she visits--or you can maybe meet somewhere for cycling weekends!

I worked and worked at trying to get a friend interested, but cycling just never spoke to her as it does to me. But my neighbor just got a new hybrid, and she's loving it, so there's a new riding buddy in my very own neighborhood.

LUCKY! It's great to have a built-in cyclist/friend. You are very lucky. I've never seemed to find that in any of my athletic pursuits. So I go it alone because no one else I've run into seems to have my enthusiasm!

That's great!!! Even though you're not close, maybe you could plan to do an event together? :)

I need to draft someone into the cycling world, too. Unfortunately I worked nights until recently, so most of my friends are on a completely different schedule than I. :(

I go it alone too. None of my friends are remotely interested in cycling or even a casual ride on a nice Saturday. I would love to find a friend or two who wouldn't mind riding together but I also work with girls who have no interest either and I'm too chicken to try to get involved with some sort of organized group. I really don't mind riding alone, it's usually a good time to clear my head and just take in the scenery. At the same time it would be cool to have a friend or two to challenge me to ride longer every once in a while.
