Mimosa posted a pic of a fabulous pimped-out bike in Amsterdam (in the "would you park a Gazelle (http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=11176)" thread).

And then I found this one! (http://www.guzer.com/pictures/pimped_bike.php)

I've always loved this one from 3speedblog (http://3speedblog.blogspot.com/), though I'm not sure if it actually qualified as "pimped out."

http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5470/2582/1600/Picture%20003.jpg

It makes me want to pimp out my bike because my bike is so BORING. (A man at Starbucks yesterday said something about me having a nice bike and I thanked him, but I wondered why he said it. It's a pretty ordinary-looking bike. Last time somebody commented on it, it was because he liked the Brooks seat. And prior to that the only comments were from people who noticed it didn't have a chain.)

But as mimosa pointed out in the other thread, pimped out bikes are usually bikes that were bought used/cheap. And I wouldn't know how to do that, plus I don't think we have room in our living room for three bikes. (!!!) Well, not if we want to see the television.

So, do you have a pimped out bike, or do you have any pics? I'd love to see some more.

oh, rub it in. THOSE are the fenders that I bought for my Bianchi Veloce..
and they absolutely do not fit.

You are right. I will really have to pimp out my next bike. OR.. I need to paint my bianchi more appropriately

OMG. There must be 200 spokes in the rear wheel of that bike (trike). Obviously a custom drilled hub and rim. Wonder how much weight that bike is meant to carry.

Is that the Pope's bike?

I wondered -- but I think that's a protestant cross. No "hanging Jesus," not to be confused with "hanging Chad."

I know, I know. Sue me.

Heh.

I can't access the "pimped out bike" site from work

Don't know whether the firewall detects bike porn, or it's the reference to pimps....I'm going to have a hard time explaining this to the "men in the black suits" when they come to my desk

This one is not mine, but it's a local one ... *not* dressed up for the holidays.

The Popecycle looks "interesting" =) On an unrelated note, on the guzer.com site, the numa-numa song was actually a really, really popular video for a very long time, and I was wondering if I'd ever see it again- thanks! :D

This is a little different, but it's something I've wanted to do for a while. My mountain bike is really boring -- a base-level silver Rockhopper -- and one day I found these pink flame decals on eBay and decided to dress it up. These are supposed to go on an Electra Betty, but I cut the Electra part off with an Exacto knife, and voila:

http://static.flickr.com/85/281641819_3c9561a753.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/xeney/281641819/)

http://static.flickr.com/121/281648629_8dc6bdd210.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/xeney/281648629/)

I missed a little bubble there, but whatever. The bike is usually filthy anyway, plus it's all scratched up from being on the car rack. The important thing is that it now has pink flames.

Now all I need is to find one of those Selle Royal Viper saddles from a Giant OCR, in pink. I am using the one that came off my husband's bike, and I love the saddle, but it's black and orange. There is a women's version out there that is black and pink, and I just need for one to show up on eBay and I'm all set.

I love those flames!

Hmm. Maybe that's a way to dress up my bike, check out decals.

It's in Dallas Cowboys colors; I'm such a fan you'd think I'd be doing something with that. I even have a couple of the stars that go on the team helmets. Unfortunately I can't think of anything to do with them. Too large. Plus I was told once they're on something they will NOT come off, so don't put them anywhere you don't want them to stay forever. No way to use them on my bike, alas.

I'm going to eventually break down and have Miz Cakes powder coated in the tiger stripes she has, but here's the look...

The tiger stripes look better up-close and not in the sun... :eyeroll:
