I want to thank those on this board for a great recommendation for dealing with dogs during a ride.

I was on a wonderful, hilly (for the Midwest) ride this weekend. (For the locals I was in LaPorte County Indiana on 500E between 1000 N and 900 N.) Two medium-sized dogs (about Border Collie size) came running after me, barking up a storm. I kept riding and was coming up to a hill where I knew they could catch me. I unclipped and decided to try the technique recommended here - I yelled "Go home" as loudly and forcefully as I could. Both of them put their tails between their legs and started to slink home. I took off then. One kept barking, and I could hear him running after me but with much less conviction and speed than before.

I am happy to say I continued my ride but took a different route home (without a map but I managed somehow).
