Well, after yesterday's long ride I went out today for a much shorter ride. But, it was a ride with a couple goals. I was going to ride for at least an hour and for at least 13.37 miles. The first was just a general conditioning goal, the second pure vanity. I wanted to get 50 miles in over the weekend, or, as I like to put it, a Half Century (Interrupted).

Like yesterday it drizzled on me, but it was much warmer (into the mid-60s! :) ). But I got my hour in (actually a hour and four minutes) and my milage in (13.57 miles) - aren't those little bike odemeters great!?!

So, total for the weekend:
3 hours 55 minutes
50.2 miles

All in all, not a bad way to spend a weekend, no?

Oh, had something truly odd happen today too. A young man in a pickup truck gave me the right of way at a four way stop! He'd gotten there first, but he waved me through in front of him!

Take care, ride safe!

congrats again!

Isn't nice when someone in a big ol' vehicle is polite.
We are lucky around here, they just about always wait and let us through (except the young kids on cell phones or the old farts who are just trying to survive getting where they are going :p

Well that was a good weekend for you!

Why is it so strange that a car stops even when he has the right of way. I mean he is in a warm comfy car listening to the radio and you are out there in the rain working your butt off :D ;)

It happens to me sometimes, then I allways think 'That guy/girl probably knows what it's like to be out there on the road'. I know I take bikes into account, I allways let them go first when I am in a car.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend at all - in fact, I Know some people, who shall remain nameless, that basically do nothing but ride on their weekends....

Glad you had a nice ride and seem to really be getting in a nice routine of riding!

Congrats on your mileage and the adventure of riding in the rain. Once you've done those things (increased miles and soaked soggy rides) they don't seem too bad do they? Enjoy your time on the road, wet or dry and keep up the good work..
