Just thought I would show off my brand new bike!! :) She's a sweet lil demon... took her for a short spin around the park this afternoon and taking her to the trails tomorrow... I'm so excited!!
Anyway - here she is (minus pedals)... 2006 Specialized Enduro Expert - got her for a bargain and I couldn't resist!

haha.. yeah.. I'm very big on the whole colour coordination thing, so I'll work on it :) One of my friends in Australia has pink forks! Very cool!! But I won't be changing them just yet!!!
The colour looks even better in real life...! It's awesome!

Well... she rides like dream!!!! Maybe too much like one coz I had a huge stack going downhill on this really sketchy bit of rock/gravel... Broke my arm. Oops. She obviously made me feel a lot safer than i was!!! Damn annoying - brand new bike and i cant ride now!!!!
But my bf is excited - he'll get to ride her while i recover.

Thanks guys... Details? Well, I thought we'd go try out this trail in the mtns that I'd been hanging out to ride... So off we went... The first section is all downhill and reeeaaally sketchy (loose gravel and hard rock) so grip is pretty poor... I must have got about 2km down the trail and... all I remember is sitting up going "ooh crap, what happened??!!" I hit my head (helmet is getting binned!) and so I can't remember anything. I may have been unconcious for a few seconds.
Injuries - I have a fractured right radial head (near the elbow - no casyt! yay!! - yes i'm right handed!) and massive grazes and cuts all over my knees, shins and my right shoulder. Yet i managed to ride back up the hill to the head of the trail!!!!!!!!!! Must've been the shock coz i feel reaaaally crook this morning.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone... I won't be able to work for a couple of weeks which is a bummer... Can't work... Can't ride... Not much else i can do!!! Relax i guess. Thanks again :)

Ok I think I missed something here cuz I am trying to remember when not being able to work for a couple weeks was a bad thing????
Unless of course, you don't get paid sick leave.......

Oh gosh, that's terrible! So sorry to hear it. I am a new mountain biker, and my biggest fear is a broken bone. I've had a couple of crashes, some sore parts and contusions, but no broken bones...yet. I hope you will heal up very fast.
And your bike is gorgeous! She'll be waiting for you when you're ready.
Take care,
Emily

Thanks everyone.. :)
This is the 2nd arm i've broken mtb-ing!! I am investing in some armour. :p
Well, I'm a little late, but wanted to tell you how nice the bike looks.
Good grief, I can't believe you broke your arm on the first ride. Glad to know you are okay though. Hows the bike. Did she fair okay? I didn't see on any of the post whether she got scratched up or anything.
Only ask about it because I know already you are going to be okay.

Yeah she's fine... Mighty dusty (nothing a lil wash can't fix!), but only a couple of minor scratches on the handlebars. Paint job is still perfect! Now that's what I call a good stack! :) (cept for the broken arm thing)
