I know I have asked this question before, but I never really got an answer... this last weekend, our ride was cloudy and somewhat hazy. My glasses have three sets of lenses - regular brownish, yellow and clear. I didn't really know which ones to use, so I put in the clear, since there was no sun. But then, when do you use the yellow? Anyone have a clue?

I probably would have used the yellow lenses in the conditions you describe. I find they sharpen my vision in foggy, misty, hazy conditions. They brighten everything up a bit, makes the day seem cheerier, too, a side benefit. I only use the clear ones if it's actually dark out, as in night riding. This is what works for me. Others may have different suggestions...........

Annie's right, yellow or rose for fog/overcast, brown for bright sun, and I think we can all figure out what clear is for..

For mountain biking, I use yellow almost all the time. I use clear for night riding only. The brown (like Irulan says) are for bright sunlight. But be careful if you use the brown lenses for mountain biking. It could be a nice sunny day, but if you're on a trail that's tree-covered, suddenly your bright sun is gone, and you are almost blind on that shady trail.
