I'm so excited! I've just determined that Bike Florida is scheduled for the same week as my spring break next year--Yay! I can go!

So this would be my first ride of this kind--multi-day, camping. I could use a little advice. Do you carry your own camping gear, spare clothes, etc, or does the event organizer run sag vehicles for that? What's the best bike for this ride--a touring bike or a speedster? I'd probably be going by myself--do many women do that? Finally, any other TE folks thinking of going? Other than Nanci, that is.:D

Juju, there's some guy that you can arrange for who sets up your tent, puts all your stuff in it, fixes you dinner- takes it all down and transports it. I don't know how much he charges- but what a luxury!

I would think a touring bike would be best- the mileage is pretty conservative- and then what do you do all afternoon if you're done riding??

The people (I did a sag stop last year) are all very friendly, and sort of older- I think a woman alone would be perfectly fine and would make plenty of friends. I think a lot of the riders are repeats, and a lot of them go from tour to tour because they are retired.

The sag stop food is pretty basic- peanut butter and jelly, apples, bananas, oranges, chocolate bars, cookies, pretzels. Don't know about the real meals.

That's all I know- the website isn't really informative- but once they get the application on line, that has a ton of info on it.

Thanks, Nanci--I knew you'd chime in! Anybody else?
