Running Mommy

I got a call on the cell this morning during my long ride. I stopped to listen to the message and it was ms. Lise telling me that she had completed her half mary!! She sounded chipper, so I'm guessing it went well.
I can't wait to hear ALLL about it!!!!
Oh and Lise FWIW, I used to say the same thing to my Ironman friends.... " I can barely run a marathon! How can you swim 2.4, ride 112, and THEN run a marathon??!!!"
It confounded me until I did it. I think there is a real difference between a stand alone 'thon and an IM 'thon. And the weird thing is I think it's mental. In a stand alone you are pushing yourself to do your best and keep up with "that girl in pink" etc. But in an IM 'thon by the time you get to it your like "oh fluck it! I'll just do what I can to cover the miles"... :D
So you take alot of pressure off yourself. Or at least *I* did. And of course I'm not gunning for a Kona slot either. I know it's a far different story at the FRONT of the pack!! :p
Anyhoo... I hope you had some PROTEIN with that french toast!! :D
Ice up and recover well.
Ciao bella!
Denise
P.S. Thanks for the call. I love hearing from you! :)
