I had so much fun when we "invaded" in a nice way the Velo Girls club ride that I'd like to do it again.

Whatcha think? The Saturday club ride is no more :( long live the Saturday Ride but new rides have been announced including the Melo Velo each saturday, 15 miles on blissfully low traffic La Canada rd.

Check the calendar and anyone wanna go? I've wanted to do Northern Exposure ride for a while.

Would love to come (ahem) again, Trek. Though Oct is getting filled up so I'd just need to know date.

:::sighs:::: I'm never gonna live that down.

OK I was thinking of the Northern Exposure Ride 10/08:
Meet at Presidio Sports Basement at 8:45am. On the 1st Sunday of the month we'll ride the beautiful Tiburon Loop -- 38 miles.

Or if your social calendar is full Sun - Oct 15 or the 22nd same place and time but the route is "leaders choice".

We have some TE gals working their way up to 30+ miles there's the Mello Velo ride, 15 miles, includes the most scenic car free parts of that last ride. Mellow Velo Beginners Road Ride
This is a ride for beginners and or people with juuuuust enough time to squeeze a short ride in. All riders are welcome but this is an easy, beginner, getting-used-to-road-biking ride in a very non-competitive environment. Meet at Canada & 92. We'll ride to Woodside and return -- 15 miles, mostly flat with little rollers.

Sat 10/07, 10/14, 10/21

Hm... just us this time, eh?

This whole weekend is booked up. But I think the following ones are open.

I'll need to double check the calendar at home but Saturday the 14th is the gallery opening for my uncle Stan's one-man show in Hayward. Sunday the 15th's open so far.

Following weekend can't think of a thing I'm doing.

Oh what an exciting life I lead :p

Weekend of the 28th my sis Duck on Wheels arrives for a brief visit then heads to Vancouver BC if anyone there wants to meet her (don't think she'll have her bike).

FYI -- Canada Road isn't car-free on Saturdays (only Sundays). But it's still a really nice road for cyclists.

I can only ride on Sundays now, because I have class Saturday mornings. I should be able to come on the 22nd.

Sunday the 22nd at Sports Basement? Sounds good so far.

I was thinking when we took over the Velo Girls last time we had a few TE gals who didn't feel up to the hills. What'dya say we do the Mello Velo which is 15 miles. Could always add the 6 mile loop around Roberts or do the ride again or....just more time to eat.

If I drove like mad down I-5 all day Saturday the 21st...

Flossie really wants to ride! And it's starting to get cold and wet up here!

you'd be exhausted....but be here for the Sunday Ride or the Saturday?

Or I can give you directions or carpool to the Melo Velo. That's a long way to drive.

I may have to work Saturday unless I burn a day off, have a Dr's appt on Tuesday so might trade for somebodys day off or I reschedule the Dr. appt but probably should not do that....anyway Sunday the 22nd sounds sure.

I really want to do the Saturday Melo Velo soon, it's a short ride but one of my fave areas.

Mapquest says 13 hours Seattle to SF. Uh-oh.

Yeah! It's a long drive. I've done it in less time but with two or more drivers and two days is best.

So.. what day did we finally decide on? KNotted would love to see ya but it's a.. looong way to drive.

Why don't you just ride it :D Heh. Seems like if you do come down we should make it worht your while somehow.. like a longer ride or something.

I would love to ride down the coast! Someday, I will.

I did not think it was such a long drive. Mapquest dashed my illusions! Bummer.

Trek, not sure if I can make this now. Friend wants to start cycling but she wants to do an easier, flatter ride. I'll see if I can get her to try this one... :(

Trek420

Easier and flatter than the mello velo? How about the Bay Trail East or West version? Or the Iron Horse Trail?

Think I may have convinced her.. hope I don't catch it if it's over her head...

convinced her to do what ride? If it's too much...you turn back or stop and rest:p

Convinced her to do the Melo Velo. YOu think it's ok if she's on a hybrid and might be kinda slow?

when are you going?

let me know what day, if I have the day free I might bring Bradley my commuter and meet up. That way I'd be more her pace (not that I'm fast but on Menace I'd fall over going that estimated speed) and get a good workout too.

Hey.. aren't we supposed to meet up tomorrow? That's why I felt bad bout kinda ditching ya after I'd said I'd meet ya. No worries, if you can't.
