... no sand in my chamois this morning. I didn't like my attitude and decided the best cure was, unlike the previous days, *not* to "go straight home becuase there are all these things you have not done," but to do that thing that helps clear out the cobwebs and make up the time by not playing solitaire instead ;-) ... and I did the 20 mile route home, boosted my bj rank to 182 (short-lived, I'm sure, and havent' gained at all on the next IL rider!) and was of course more productive ... and this morning
:) :) :) :) :) I found my wallet :) :) :) :) :)
(It was wedged up against the side of the kitchen cabinet, invisibly vertical, and don't *ask* me how it got there 'cause I don't know, but I live alone, so I can't blame anybody :rolleyes: )
So the sun was glorious on the 45 degree ride (that's the temperature, not the angle) and I'm preparing to walk down the hall and visit the ATM machine BECAUSE I CAN!!!! (And because I need to get the dollars to put things back in all the squirrel-places I've had to raid this past six weeks ...)
I took the short way by the school 'cause I was running late... but the officer wasn't there... and I'd even pumped up my tires :( No radar for me!

Hmph. Cool, nice, uneventful ride in. No wrong way bikers, no suicide squirrles, and no front derailluer issues made for a rather boring ride. But I'll take those boring rides any day, rather than have to drive!

The funny thing is my idler wheel was silent on the way into work. I guess that grease thing actually works. Hmmm, I wonder if that would work for my squealing front brake... :confused: {yes, I'm being silly}

Other than that, an uneventful ride to and from work. Work made up for it though. :rolleyes:

I took the day off from work to see the chiropractor about the tendinitis that developed this week in my left ankle. He gave me the go ahead to continue riding and I decided to make the most of my sick day so off I went on my bike. I had a great riding going until I heard my rear tire blow. Thankfully I was on a very flat road and I was able to pull over without any problems. It appears the area where the valve stem joins the tire was the weak spot. I changed the tube and could not for the life of me figure out why the new pump was not inflating the new tube until I heard that awful hissing noise. The valve stem on the new tube had torn from the tire and now I was really stuck 10 miles from my house. Thankfully school was still in session and I called a team member to see if they could come rescue me from the side of the road. They assured me they would be there soon and so I started walking toward the big interesection they would pass through to make it a bit easier to find me. A good friend from school eventually showed up and hauled me and bike home. I got in 22 miles before things went down hill but they would a good 22 miles so I can't complain. My ankle feels okay - it was talking to while I was hiking up the road but has since grown silent. Time to ice it, stretch it and grab a shower.

Very short ride today after the hard one yesterday. I just did an 8mile ride with a 2mile run afterwards, the same distance as the duathlon next weekend.

I haven't ridden since Monday and I was getting all stressed about that!! So I went out at 5:30 pm after work for a quick 20 miles. I did it with an avg speed of 16.9. The wind was awful and it was a bit on the chilly side. Guess it is time to pull out the warm clothes!! :(

Yes it was fun...I started out planning to do only 14 miles but that didn't seem like enough so I kept riding, I might have gone longer but it was getting dark. I really do love to ride. When I ride by myself I can do an easy ride or I can push myself, or a little of each. It is just so freeing. is that a word??

I drove over and met up with a girlfriend to do a ride.
Beautiful cold windy sunny country riding! We "only" did 13 miles. It was easy. But I remember when 13 miles seemed impossible to me 3 months ago, and i NEVER would have been able to peddle up those hills that didn't seem to give me much trouble now. Yippee!
Had a great time- first time i drove my bike anywhere by myself to go riding.

Finally commuted yesterday (Friday, the 29th). A "measly" 14 miles or so.
First time on the bike since last saturday, and only 7 days to go before the century! :eek:
