I just wanted to ask how you are doing. How is your riding going? I would like to find out what how things have changed for you if at all. Here are some questions:

1. How far along are you? I am 14 weeks now.
2. How are you feeling in general? I am surprisingly doing well. Had nausea for about 10 days that ended past Monday. It threw me off quite a bit.
3. How is your riding? I still ride, but now it depends on a day. One day I feel great and I ride just as fast as I usually do (20 – 22 mph is not an issue). Going uphill is little slower because I am trying to control my heartbeat. But sometimes it feels like I have lead in my legs. But at least I ride and will continue as long as I can. There are no back pains that some pregnant women experience.
4.How is your baby? So far so good. Just yesterday we heard his/her heart again. I was very happy to see my DH’s smile! Still don’t know the gender.

All the best to you,
- L

I wasn't riding bikes when i was PG but i tell you what. I slept A LOT.
I held a job and took 3 naps a day. I slept well enough at night. but
I loved my naps. I had very little energy. I felt nauseated a lot but didn't lose
many meals.
If you can ride, that's great. But a lot of what your body is doing is
trying to put on some weight for you and the baby..so listen to your body
and save the hard riding for when the baby is in your DH's arms.
good luck

Hi Len,

I've been checking in every once in while , but didn't notice that you posted this. The last post about pregnancy got moved to the "health" area of the board, so I was looking there and missed this.

I am 15 weeks pregnant. I haven't been on my bike so much in the past few weeks..maybe I'll go do a few laps in park today. What happened was that I got REALLY tired during the first trimester, and also was feeling nauseous in the mornings. So I stopped running, and just biked a bit. I am now swimming once a week, lifting weights 2x a week, walking a lot, with the hope of adding yoga or another weekly swim soon. The nausea went away 2-3 weeks ago (yay!), but my energy level has dipped significantly, which makes it hard to keep up my previous workout routine.

My body has gotten rounder but I can still fit into my regular clothes..a lot of them have some extra room since I lost some weight this past spring. I can definitely see that as my belly expands more (maybe in 4-6 weeks or so?) it would not feel comfortable to be compressed into a cycling position. I think so, at least.

I walk up a lot of stairs (NYC subway) and I've noticed myself getting breathless in a way that I never have before. That feels strange, I'm used to basically running up stairs.

Baby is great! We've also heard its heartbeat twice and have some great pictures on the fridge.

Stay healthy & keep us posted,
- R
