Yippee! I now have a road bike! After months of riding my Trek MTB on the roads, I have made the leap.
Now my MTB can do what it does best - ride on trails.
I am very excited. I now have a Cannondale R1000 Feminine - it has the dragonfly paint job.
We went for our first ride together on Monday (my birthday) - I have some things to learn!
Compared to my MTB, it is VERY responsive... and very fast!
I love it!:D

It was in stock... the end of the 2006 models, so I got it on sale. :D
I took everyone's advice here, and had a fit done before shopping around. A friend of DH is the manager at the LBS, and did a full Serotta fit for me... since I ended up buying from his shop, he didn't charge me for it!
I tried a number of different bikes at a couple of shops, but this one just felt right! Okay, so I have only ridden 27 miles so far... but so far so good!
There are Chinese characters on the seat tube - I emailed Cannondale for the translation: "Beautiful Woman."

Thanks, everybody!
fatbottomedgurl: "And now you can keep the tire pressure on your mtb low." Ha! This made me laugh - I took my MTB for a ride in the State Park a few weekends ago, and forgot to check the tire pressure before using it for my commute to work on the following Monday. :o Something just wasn't quite right... It proved to be a good reminder to check my pressure - I haven't forgotten since!
And, thanks for the birthday wishes too! I'm still a spring chicken, despite my birthday - I've just turned 31. I hope to have many many many years of riding left for me!

I'm soooo jealous! I had just bought my cannondale road bike last year...then I saw that bike! I test rode one and almost sold mine to purchase one of those. It is one of the prettiest paint jobs I've ever seen. ENJOY!!!

Nice pocket doors too. ;)
Wow! You're observant. Yup - they are nice - I work in a restored Victorian. The four "walls" of my office are two sets of pocket doors, a huge picture window (which looks out into the parking lot of a burned-out restaurant, but you can't have everything), and a slate-and-tile fireplace with wooden mantel and mirror. Very lucky, I am. It's so much better than the cubicle I used to work in!
And the job's nice, too... and I can ride my (NEW NEW!!!) bike to work! :D
Happy birthday to you, too, Jeni! :)

Oh, I am so tempted! I have been looking at that jersey for a while now. Unfortunately, I just blew my budget on the bike, so the jersey will have to wait. :(
I'm watching it though, in the desparate hope the price will drop!

You must pick a pretty Japanese name for her! All that bamboo and dragonfly and pale watery aqua blue....
