I happened to turn on the radio (NPR) two days ago, half-way through an interview with Raul Malo. He sang "After Tonight", and I was enchanted. He's compared to Roy Orbison, but it's smoother, less sobbing. I am a fan of Orbison--saw a stage show about his life called "Only the Lonely" in London 10 years ago.

If you like that sort of music, give Raul Malo a listen: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6125540

I've got a love of classical and light opera. Graham (hubby) treated me today to a double CD of Richard Tauber, one of the original Tenors who was popular from the 1920's through to the 1940's (long before my time). Beautiful voice - without the microphones of the present day. Just the job to drop on to my MP3 player and go for leisurely run with the bike:D

I've found so many wonderful, new (for me) artists listening to NPR. And I was blown away by Raul Malo. I ordered the CD and the rest of the cuts are just as good as "You're only Lonely". A definate purchase ladies!
