OK. Just about all done unpacking. Last step is reassembling RubySlipperz. I know I have the tools, and I know I can get all the parts into the right places, but ... There should be some fresh lubricant here and there (seat post, stem, pedals) and I don't have any. A guy at my LBS back in Madison once said I could use plain ol' petroleum jelly, but when I repeated that suggestion once in another bike shop the guy there went  . So, maybe best to take Ruby to the LBS up the road here tomorrow morning and get her put together properly? What say you gals?

Yay! Your baby's home! I vote for taking her to the LBS. Unless you're quite confident about putting her together, in which case, I guess just buy some lube at the LBS, and get started! In any event, I'm so happy to hear that you and your bike are finally reunited. :D

I second that. Then get some bike lube and cleaner at the shop so you can keep RS ship shape.

And then I recommend you take her out for a proper test ride....I could even volunteer to help....what say you to a ride back from Hell?! I'll pack my cycling shoes and clothes for my visit next week-end. A ride from Hell could be just the thing to get over the party feasting on Saturday night.

OK. You're on. Assuming we find a way to safely pack the bikes without endangering all the cakes we'll be hauling (1 German Chocolate, 1 banana strawberry cream, a batch of lefse, and 4 apple pies). Oh, and the sleeping bags and clothes. Should work tho'. I think we have a 2-bike rack somewhere.
