If you're not jewish which I am sure most of you are not ;) you can still share it with your jewish friends or just enjoy some apple slices dipped in honey, mmm good! any opportunity to appreciate that we are here is a good one!

so here's to a good new year to you all..

and yes it is not quite dusk here on the us east coast, but close enough!

Yes, I think it's the year 5727, my how time flies :D

Now that could have been a cure for the Y2K bug, convert all the cumputers to a Jewish calendar. Why didn't we think of that?

L'Shana Tova to everyone. The year is now 5767 (you are short by 40 years trek!!)

Yom Kippur in 10 days. Break-the-fast is my absolute favorite meal of the year.

Happy New Year, all! I've always felt that this is a good time to start the new year. Much better than Jan. 1. And now that my sister and her family are Jewish, we get to celebrate it! :D

L'Shanah Tovah to everyone! Especially our friends in Israel!
!

Peace to all, Patty

Thank you - I will take that personally!
We had a nice meal in the Dining Room and tonight at sunset a Women's Circle down by the fish pools with a tashlich (We symbolically threw a stone into the pool for something we wanted to rid ourselves of/let go from the year just ended). Then we released balloons with a wish for the coming year
Even had a shofar/ram's horn (just like in California Reform synagogues!)
I was there with DD (17) who managed the fire and the herbal tea which was another positive dimension to it all for me as she won't even light Shabbat candles these days.
Shana tova to you all
