Hi, I've been mtb'ing for about a month now. My bike is not the greatest, but I am loving it! I am 34, married 16 years and have four kids that we homeschool (ages from 15-7). For about three years I have been running and not making much progress. After biking for this last month, I was able to run at a consistent speed for 30 minutes! I know that sounds kind of wimpy, but I was a wimp. My husband rides with me and hopefully, we can get some good equipment for the whole family to ride with us.

Hello Steph.

Good to have ya on board. :)

What do ya mean? 30 min runnign sounds like a long time to me. I can't stand running. That's why I'm trying biking - more enjoyable and not so jarring to the body, unless I biff that is.

Have fun on the board. New myself and I've been pelting these folks questions and they've very nicely put up with me :) Lots of knowledgeable, supportive and patient folks out there.

Look forward to seeing ya around

30 min runnign sounds like a long time to me. I can't stand running. I think that's why I never made progress, because not only am I on my feet, but on a treadmill...ugh. I love biking, so it doesn't seem like so much work. I only ran because I can't ride today. I have only been getting in one good ride a week and so I have to do something in between so it won't be so hard. I am excited to have found this board because I know so little and need all the help I can get. Plus, there seems to be a shortage of women on the trails and it is encouraging to find that they really do exist.

Wimpy?! Not in the least! I can't run 30 seconds, let alone 30 minutes:( .
Welcome! :)

welcome to the board steph. sounds like your having fun and doing great!

your not wimpy with only being able to run for 30 mins. its a lot of work. i remember when i could barely run at all, now i love it. i found that since i've been doing longer rides, my running has improved. i switch between days that i run and ride, and actually done both on the same day.

keep up the good work!
