Hey girls! This is the perfect way to end your summer riding season -- brush up on your skills and learn how to ride your bike more efficiently, confidently, and safely!
Girls Got Skills, our corner-stone two-day women's cycling clinic, will be September 23rd and 24th. Featuring 16 hours of personalized instruction and lectures, this clinic is appropriate for the intermediate to advanced recreational rider and any level of racer. Past participants have been endurance riders, CAT3 and CAT4 racers, and triathletes from throughout the United States. Some of our participants have been riding as little as a year; some as many as 20 years. We guarantee that everyone will learn something and benefit from the weekend. Now in our 4th season of offering this clinic, hundreds of women have participated over the years.
During the weekend, we focus on individual bike handling skills, group riding skills, and on-the-bike training:
Mounting/Dismounting
Starts, Stops, and Emergency Stops
The Look
Riding without Hands
Bumping
Bike Handling
Bunny Hopping
Cornering & Counter-Steering
Climbing & Descending
Group Riding (pacelines & eschelons)
HR Based Training (including a time trial HR test and sample workouts)
Nutrition for cycling
Girls Got Skills is coached by Lorri Lee Lown and Sarah Lightfoot. Both have many years experience instructing hundreds cyclists both in clinics and one-on-one and have been collaborating since 2005.
The early--bird registration deadline is today. Group size is limited to 20 participants to ensure you get lots of personal attention. There are still a handful of spots available, so don't hesitate to register. We won't be offering this clinic again until spring 2007.
